Um, totally different time periods. I've read both, actually. Go Ask Alice is actually an anonymous account from a girl's diary. Well, that's what they say anyway, but I'm really not going to get into the stupid conspiracy theories. It was published in 1971.
Cut, however, is by Patricia McCormick and was published in...2000 I believe. I read it last year. It's fiction, form what I'm aware of, but I'm not absolutely positive on that.
Anyway. Both are good books, IMO. However, GAA beats Cut anyday IMO. GAA is more mature and has a deeper impact. I don't know. The tale is beautiful in a way that McCormick couldn't replicate. But I musn't make TOO many comparisons. The main focus is on different things. With GAA it is drugs. With Cut...well, that's pretty obvious, lol.
wow. i just read that book recently too (got it as an ebook) and thought it was interesting. i guess it reminds me of The Bell Jar and The Perks of Being a Wallflower just in the general kind of edgy/life subjects, but at the same time these are books that i find difficult to describe. whenever someone asks me, i just tell them to read it for themselves.
anyway, i guess this pretty random. i just saw your name on my livejournal and vaguely remembered you as someone who likes both house and jaeho o.O' like me, loL. i like your penname, it seems very evocative of things to me XD
