I have to get the kids ready for karate class, but here's a quote I discovered from Rainer Maria Rilke that I have fallen in love with: "Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage."
I had a delicious ice cream cone today, which helped make the 80+ degree weather much more pleasant. I also listened to a great Al-Anon podcast about being worthy of love, and how--while you're still learning to love yourself--you just have to act as if you do until it happens. So I decided after three months of not doing laundry to do three loads all in a row. Sometimes I need a reminder to pay attention to self-care, but I'm learning! And as they say: progress, not perfection.

~125 short essays on Paradise Lost.
~125 long essays that were modern satirical proposals based on "A Modest Proposal"
Finished TWO hours ahead of deadline!
(After 6 weeks of Star Wars fanfic instead of, you know, incremental grading.)
Only one all-nighter, a glorious week to myself feeling like ME...without feeling like someone's house matron...glorious.
And now I can go back to All The Star Wars!
