I'd ask you to stop gutting me with the way you write Damon, but of course I wouldn't mean it.

And he can’t blame her for that; not when the fault is his. Despite the vervain, he could force her, take her against her will, until his will became her own. What a hollow victory that would be. She has to come to him of her own volition, and that, that will never happen.

That's such a beautiful, spot-on illustration of his character - and what makes him so damn appealing. (Also, Florence and the Machine? <3 them.)

I really am happy that how I write Damon works for you; every fanfic writer has a slightly different take on a given character. I know my take won't work for everyone.

Damon definitely has violent impulses, but I genuinely believe he isn't interested in MAKING Elena be with him. I'm sure some would disagree, but that's how I see him at the moment.

its funny cause when i watch the show i totally ship stefen/elena. hard. i actually prefer stefen to damon, but here, in your fics, i almost sway the other way. =)

I like Stefan, too, and I'm not anti-Stefan/Elena. Those two just don't grab me in the same way D/E do. (I could totally get behind Elena/Stefan/Damon, too. *g* )I love nearly all the characters on TVD; that's one reason why the show is so appealing to me right now. Even without a ship, I care about so many of the ppl/stories on the show.

In real life, I would never encourage any woman to be with a man like Damon, but this isn't real life. ;)

its surprising to me how much i like it, cause it is sort of a shallow show, you know? its not the classiest programming on tv, but something draws me in, and makes me want to watch episode after episode, so they're doing something very right.

I'm floored. honestly, some fanfiction writers seem to understand so well as though its their own. Every time I come across this connection I feel humbled by the experience.

"So he will settle for her silent thanks" I think those words right here resemble Damon's life in every way that matters. He was always made to settle for less. I wonder if that will ever change.

I agree, and I don't know if it will change. But I certainly hope it does. It would be good for him to be put first by someone, even once. To be the "chosen" one.

Poor boy! I'm fearful now for him more than ever. Nina said in an interview that there is more pain coming on the way for Damon more than Stefan. All i could think of at that moment was "how can anyone bear more pain?"

I can't pinpoint the exact moment I went from loving Damon to loving Damon/Elena. It was definitely very early on, and Damon was still on some of his worst behavior, but I can't help it. I ship them. Hard. LOL
