A/N OK so the thing is that, as some of you know, I'm on a temporary internet setup that I have to pay for based on how much I use. Which means things like MSN, XBOX live and stuff is totally not in my budget DX until the internet people come and set up the actual internet and everything.

Anyways, about the story. IM DONE IT :D the rest of the chapters are written and basically edited too. So yeaa, read on~

Oasis

Yoochun paced in front of his car, giving himself the usual pep talk. He wanted Jae; that he could admit to himself now. ‘No strings’ never really did work for him; he remembered falling for Changmin pretty hard at one point in his life.

After replaying everything that happened with Jae in his head, he decided he had to call him. He had to stop him somehow. He couldn’t rely on Yunho’s mess ups to get his love now.

Yoochun took out his phone and hit the talk button.

Busy.

Shit, he didn’t get Jae call waiting.

Frustrated, he climbed into his car and decided to drive back home. Work would wait.

“Did you see Jae leave?” Yoochun asked the security guard that sat in the lobby.

“Yes, sir. He left not long after you did.”

Yoochun swore. Jae was gone.

--

Come on JaeJae, you know you want to.

Yunho’s voice rang through Jae’s head until the rush of the city was drowned out and that was all he could hear.

Boo, just you and me. Like the old times.

Jae left the apartment a little after Yoochun did but he had no car yet and taxi seemed a little too expensive for his thrifty nature. He walked to the bus stop that was located two blocks from the apartment in front of a park.

He couldn’t deny the good times he had had with Yunho. He was the one that made him feel pretty. Even though Jae hated being called that, when Yunho did, it seemed like it was a compliment. His first tattoo, the first time he dyed his hair, as far as he could remember, it was always Yunho there by his side.

All the way till the first heartbreak. He clearly remembered when Yunho blew off a study date with Jae and he found him in the Janitor’s closet with some chick on her knees for him. He sweet talked his way back into Jae’s heart and Jae’s pants. But it felt like it was okay. Yunho cared, right?

When the bus stopped in front of Jae, he hesitated.

He told himself it was okay, there was a bus coming here every 15 minutes. Even a little bit of hesitation and he wouldn’t go. He planted himself back on the seat in the bus shelter and waited again.

His first thought was to call Yoochun but hearing his voice would make his problem a bit harder.

He opened his phone and dialled numbers of a phone that rang in Korea.

“Yoboseyo?”

“Noona?”

“Joongie?

“Yea, hi,” Jae said softly.

“What’s wrong darling?”

“What makes you think there’s something wrong? Maybe I called because I wanted to hear your voice.”

“That’s sweet, Joongie, but seriously what’s wrong? Your voice sounds a bit…what’s the word?”

“Pathetic.”

“No, baby. Empty. Confused. In need of a sleepover with the girls complete with chocolate, movies and talking till the sun comes up.”

Jae rolled his eyes and groaned but smiled. “Noona. When are you going to realize I’m not a girl? It’s bad enough the rest of world thinks it. And besides, chocolate is bad for my six pack abs.”

“Right, I forgot you were all into working out.” Jaejoong heard a faint giggle. “So what’s up?”

“Yunho.”

“No,” his sister said and groaned, “not again, Jae. Please.”

“But noona, he’s-“

“I know. He’s hard to say no to. But we agreed that he is also a manipulative bastard and not worthy of your time.”

“I can’t help it, noona, when I’m with him…god, I don’t even know. I’m just addicted. Something about him makes me go back.”

“He was your first, basically only, guy. Is that why? Or is it the fact that he’s the only one who doesn’t let you push him around.”

Jae was silent for a while. He had never thought of that before.

“That’s it isn’t it, Joongie. You need to be controlled in a relationship.”

“I…I guess so.”

“Then, baby, think about it. Is it really Yunho you want? Or is it just that feeling of being protected and dominated you want? Being the youngest amongst us really had that effect on you.”

Jae was impressed. Nobody but his sisters could know that about him. He never minded being the controlling one in the relationship but it never satisfied him. Now it was easy to see why all the relationships with the girls didn’t work out.

“Ok, let me present to you another twist,” he finally said.

“It’s never just that simple with you, is it?”

“Nope. Ok, so you know I’m staying with Yoochun right? You know him?”

“The oldest in the Parks? He’s a cutie. He used to steal pocky from me when he was seven.”

“I thought you said the pocky stealer was that Kangin kid that had had a crush on you?”

“I never really got my fair share of pocky.”

Jae laughed at the seriously melancholy tone that his sister put on with that sentence.

“So what twist does he bring?”

“You said it yourself, he’s a cutie.”

There was a long silence on the other end of the line.

“And he’s my roommate,” Jae said to fill the silence.

“You like him?”

“Maybe.”

“Kim Jaejoong! He’s your cousin.”

“Distant cousin.”

He heard a sigh. “Well, if you’re prepared to give eomma and appa the news about your sexuality soon enough, I don’t think who the guy is going to make any difference so I guess it shouldn’t matter.”

“See, you’re so logical. That’s why you’re my favourite noona.”

Jae smiled at the line that got him everything he wanted when he was little; rides to friends’ houses, money, new clothes.

He could hear the smile in his noona’s voice too. “Is he nice?”

“Yeah.”

“Jaejoong, is he nice?”

Jae would have laughed at the tone of his sister’s voice if he wasn’t blushing like mad. She was asking what he had done with him so far.

“He’s ‘nice’, noona.”

Jaejoong didn’t realize how many buses had stopped and left as his conversation went on. He didn’t even realize that he wasn’t at the stop anymore but walking up the street and into the nearby park.

It was still early and there was a cool morning breeze that blew into Jae’s hair.  He found himself sitting on a swing in the park, still clutching onto the phone and listening to his sister talk. He missed her.

Jae lightly pushed his foot off the ground and shifted his weight on the swing to sway forward and back.

“Babe, I got to get to work and I haven’t even showered yet. So I’ll talk to you later, alright? And don’t forget what I said about Yoochun.”

“Yes, noona, I’ll remember.”

“Bye, Jae.”

“Noona! You know, thanks.”

“JaeJae, shut up.”

“Okay.” Jae couldn’t stop smiling. “Bye.”

--

Yoochun couldn’t go back to work; he called in sick. But he couldn’t stay home either. Something about staying home made him feel like he was waiting for Jae. He didn’t want to feel that because it’d be pointless waiting for someone who would come back only to leave you again.

He took off his shirt, slipped on a hoodie and sweatpants, and left the house after grabbing his iPod. Fresh air would do him good. It always did.

He walked slowly, kicking stones across the sidewalk as he did and heavy metal thumped loudly in his ear, something that loud and angry but still had that gloomy touch to it.

He didn’t turn the volume down until he saw a very blonde head on the swing across the street.
