Americans icons for 20inspirations

I'm not quite happy with this set, but it's surprising I finished at all because of the time contraints. I could hardly find any caps, so half the time I had was made capping episodes. Live and learn. Next time I know to check beforehand. I hope you enjoy these.

Your Down the Rabbit Hole icon has a really interesting idea and execution. Minimalism is nice and simple and I love the slight reflection seen below them. The texture use and misty look work really well in Border, and I really like the lighting and muted coloring in Chiaroscuro and OC3. But perhaps my favorite icon of the bunch is Retro. The light coloring is wonderful, and even though the icon as a whole looks very minimal, the addition of text behind her head is perfect and really looks like something I'd see on the window of an old diner.

Thank you. I'm not completely happy with the Down the rabbit hole one. I made some mistakes in there and I was very pressed for time ;)

Retro is the first icon I made. I know exactly when I saw the topic the image I wanted to use and that I wanted it to be a bit like a Diner. So I'm glad it worked so well.

Thank you for the wonderful feedback :D

Stock and minimalism are just so beautiful. I love the subtlety of the reflection in the latter, and the light, grayish tones.

I also love the light pastel and muted colours you've got going on in your obscure crops and artist's choice sets, great job!

I always think that suble reflections work so much better than hard shadows. So I'm so happy you like them :D

I'm very glad you like the icons.

Oh, these are gorgeous! Your method of coloring creates such atmosphere! And I am really in love with 'retro'! Your text use there is absolutely perfect! 'Minimalism' is wonderful too. Great cut out, and I really love your unique way of adding the shadows back into the icon. The fade out is done so well, and it looks so natural. Great job!

Also your coding with the themes popping up like that when you hover is really cool! Do you code that yourself?

Thank you for the wonderful feedback :) i'm not sure I have method. Exept that I use tons of color layers until I'm happy ;)

Retro is one of the few icons where I had a vision beforehand and it turned out exactly like I wanted it to.

I'm also glad you like minimalism one, because sharpening is not so easy I'm glad this worked well.

The shadow is actually just a copy of the image with a gaussian blur and same fade out. It is always very effective.

And yes, I coded the pop up myself with css3 and html5. Soemone asked me in another entry to share how it is done adn I said yes, completely forgetting how complicated it is ;)

Really interesting crops you got going there, I like! My fave is probably #15, so powerful. :D

15 is my favorite crop as well. I'm very happ you like it. Especialyl since ropping is not my strong suit and I had a really hard time making it 'obscure' ;)

Rabbit is really interesting. I like the detail within it, and how it comes off as simple at first. I really love retro, which is so much fun. The text choice is genius.

Thank you so much :D
Retro was the first icon I made fo the set and the easiest too. Because I had an idea right away and I know the scene I wanted to use and could cap it at exactly the right moment.

I'm glad you like Rabbit becasue I wished I'd have had more time to flash it out. So I like that it worked anyhow.
