So you already know that I really love this, but it seems worthwhile to say once more that this is beautiful, and stunning, and gorgeous, and lovely, and perfect and sweet and angsty, and I think you did an outstanding job on this. I loved the way you balanced the historical narrative with present day Kame, the exploration of Japanese society at that time and the artistic intersections were beautifully realised (you did your research and it worked well) and I loved how Kame slowly stripped back the painting to it's essence here in the present day. I liked the way those two things were juxtaposed....Kame essentially stripping the secrets away to reveal the truth of the painting, while the past Jin and Kame were essentially paiting their portrait of their lives, and creating the secret. I love the fact that past Jin and Kame fell in love regardless of their differences, and although I get sadface whenever akame doesn't work out, you can see why and how the past ones fell apart, and I therefore forgive you for breaking my heart.
