I say we've no guarantee ...

I decided that too many weeks had gone by without me watching Gackt's Requiem et Reminiscence II: Tour Final DVD, so I'm watching it now. It seems weird to say, especially since there's an enormous poster of him hanging in my apartment, but occasionally I forgot how utterly and completely I adore Gackt. But I do; oh, how I do. In spite of his ( Read more... )

I completely understand what you mean about forgetting how much you adore Gackt. I do this quite a lot, also. I also find it amusing that it's never the first song I heard from him (Mizerable), it's Last Song. I flippin' adore that song something fierce, and every time I even see it on a playlist or something, I have to listen to it. And then it's all down hill from there. XD

I also find it funny, that I found Malice Mizer after I discovered Gackt. Which is apparently quite weird, as I've been told by most of my friends. :3 ( ... )

Oh man, 'Last Song' is my absolute favorite Gackt number, too! ♥ The first solo song of his I heard was 'Secret Garden', followed right after by 'Mizerable', and both of those still bring a smile to my face every time they crop up in the music rotation; but yeah, 'Last Song' always has to be replayed at least twice. ^^ Cliche as it is (because it's everybody's favorite song, now) I'm also wildly partial to GHOST. That track is brilliant. And lately, I haven't been able to stop listening to 'Oblivious'. ... But yeah, 'Last Song' is my ultimate Gackt go-to number.

Haha, oh yeah, Gackt's a total dork. I've seen the pork bellies interview (that was so great XD), along with him hula-hooping, para-para dancing, and all manner of ridiculous things. There's also a really funny interview where he admits to having the entire first Gundam movie memorized, so they play a clip and take the sound track out to see if he can recite everyone's parts -- and he does, perfectly. XD He's a bit arrogant sometimes and he hates to lose (I watched ( ... )

It's always a good day when one learns something new, ergo, this is a good day.

I've dabbled in Jrock occasionally, but I can't say I know much about it really, so all information about it from people who do know what they're talking about is endlessly fascinating to me.

Gackt I've heard a few songs of and seen a few videos, but I must confess the most I know of him is through his Vocaloid Gakupo. I never had a clue his public image was a vampire - the world is wonderful some times :D

Oh goodness, girl, I am infatuated with Jrock; I could talk about it for hours and hours and hours. XD I love the music, obviously, but the entire sub/counter-culture behind it is just as interesting to me. I went to 16 concerts during my two years in Japan, and every time I went I learned something new about the music culture itself, and I'm officially obsessed. Anything you want to know, ask away! XDD

Eheh, Gackt is a strange, strange duck. But wonderfully strange. He's genuinely interested in mythology and the occult (and he's a total anime/manga/gamer nerd), but I think these days the vampire thing is more to mess with the media. XD He used to be in a very Goth-oriented band called Malice Mizer, which is where that all started; but these days, he just likes to be difficult, I think. Still, he's a fascinating guy. I adore him. ♥
