I find its "magick" system intriguing, can you imagine what would be possible for a trained mage in that enviornment? Or even an untrained mage for that matter. It is also a good metaphor for me on the nature of our universe's maia, that there is a layer (actually several layers) of reality beyond ours, most of which are closer to "truth" than the oine we experience in our every day world. We live in a matrix, one based upon how we collapse our wave functions, how we observe the universe around us and what we expect when we open the box, is the cat dead or alive? i also related to the mai theme in the search for deeper truth, to find what is "real" no matter what that reality may actually hold.
That and I Do have the habit of going down the rabbit hole to see how far it really goes....
Blade Runner is more real despite being more bleak. Also the idea of replicant technology has so much more going for it than is originally envisoned in the book and its sequel.
