Um, what the hell has happened? When I left LJ about a year ago everything was all "Yay Slash!" and "Here's my knitting pattern, isn't it adorable?" and now it's all "I AM MORE PC THAN YOU!" and "PRIVILEGED PRIVILEGED PRIVILEGED

I can't really help you, I ran away as soon as drama started. I am cowardly like that. To be honest I'm normally out of the loop anyway so I never really knew exactly what happened.

I don't blame you! Drama's not really my thing, and from what little bits and pieces I've picked up it seemed pretty nasty, so yeah, it's not being a coward to calmly step out of the way before the shit hits the fan! :D

I guess maybe it's just a journal wide thing going on or something, it's just really surprising what's going on everywhere. I'm like "Why can't everybody just get along...". xD

Um, basically, people have started actually giving a crap when people say really uncool things, and this is extremely displeasing to the ones who sometimes say the aforementioned uncool things.

Yeah, no, I understand that. It's just seems to be everywhere. A year ago there was little discussions, but now I can barely go into a community without there being a large debate about race or sexism or -ism's in general popping up within a few days.

I'm not commenting on one side or the other, I'm commenting on the fact that it seems to be the mood on almost the entirety of LiveJournal, which makes me wonder what started it.

It's kind of like when people talk about how everything was ~so much better~ in the past? In reality, no, it wasn't actually better at all, it was just that no one talked about the things that were wrong. Same principle.
