these are awesome icons! I love your color choice (I`d love to know the secret of these colors, but, if you`re not up to sharing how you`ve done these I wouldn´t mind), the caps you choose, and the way you`ve cut them

Thanks so much. I've been playing with layer properties, color balance and levels a lot in PhotoShop this past week.And that's the outcome. I also got to say, that doing banners for icon challenge communities really helped me understand some of the tools and effects in coloring. Trying to reflect the winner's icon's coloring in the base picture/background of the banner, I learned a lot just fiddling with settings in PS. The couple of tutorials I did ages ago took so much time to compose and I've become much more of a free style icon maker since then. I add so many layers and go back and change settings on previous layers half way through. That kind of makes writing a linear tutorial really hard and complicated. Maybe when life is less busy, I'll find the time to write one again, but right now it's not planned.
