I share your Twilight obsession!! I read Twilight twice and Eclipse three times - I didn't re-read New Moon but only because it's so emotionally intense, I read it in a day and stayed up till 2 a.m. to finish it because I couldn't sleep without knowing what would happen! And that would happen again if I re-read it so I'd have to set aside a day for it :)

I think the books flow really well too, I'm getting really tired of criticisms about her writing. Oh and the casting, yes, perfect! I was so happy with the Edward choice, and judging by the sneak trailer they've released I'm going to have to see it in the cinema on my own cause it's just too ... ? personal? private? don't want to share? don't want to watch it with someone who might not like it and have to listen to them criticise it? yeah, something like that!

Oh crap! I was going to start New Moon tonight too and now I'm worried if I do I will stay up all night to read the whole thing... I had to FORCE myself not to immediately start Twilight over again when I finished it so I can completely understand how you've read them multiple times.

Oh man, now I'm so wondering what is coming in book 2! Hahaha.

Yeah, regarding Meyer's writing, did you see the link in the comment below this? Or, maybe, don't bother. I don't understand why people have to rip someone's work to shreds like that! Ugh. And personally I think the writing can't be SO bad having flown by like it did. I can tell the movie is going to edit a lot of stuff down though. Even while I was reading, I thought, hmm, this won't make the movie (um, baseball game?), and in the trailer they show some scenes where they are already saying certain lines in different locations, etc... ah well, I am going in with an open mind. I am hoping for wonderfulness, but if it sucks (hahaha, no pun intended) I will just ignore it like the Timeline ( ... )

Wow, I totally take that back, I think I just saw a pic that makes it look like they're going to do the baseball game. Hunh.

Yeah I heard they were doing the baseball game. CGI much?

I'm ok with changing things, in order to make a story work as a film. I care more about how it's acted, and whether it still has that magic.

I've come across a lot of negative reviews but they all say pretty much the same thing, and y'know, it's all very obvious - funny at time, depending on the person, but still obvious, and easy. And all I can say is: shame. Their loss. But you're right, a book that flows so well and is so easy to read, doesn't really suffer from grammar trouble etc. I didn't have a problem with Meyer's writing - and I am picky! I also noticed a lot of people didn't like how fast they fell in love, or Edward's protectiveness, etc., and had trouble with the vampire thing... pretty much everything has been sneered at by various people. It actually starts to sound insecure after a while. And I was really surprised that people had trouble with Bella falling in love with Edward after, what, a week? It's not ridiculous and it does happen - when it happens in ( ... )

I want to see Prince Caspian.

The only thing I know about Twilight was buttfacemakini's LJ entry on it here: http://buttfacemakani.livejournal.com/281619.html#cutid1

and it was great.

You know how that person poked fun at Meyer using the phrase "sour grapes?"

Well, that's exactly the phrase that entry brings to mind. If they don't like it, they can just not read it. Sheesh.

It's not going to be for everyone. I would however recommend just giving it a shot first (if you have any interest) and try not to let that person's bitter snark make you predisposed against it.

Haha. If you like harry potter, scroll down through her journal: she does amazing amazing fanart. I thought it was more funny than scathing, but since I've never read it I might be unbiased or biased, whichever you like.
