I was turned into a part-human monster by my grandfather to do the work that was too dirty for his good reputation to allow. I couldn't even leave, since he could track my body by the magic holding it together -- even assuming that I could find shelter somewhere. Right before he got himself killed, I also discovered that he built in a means of taking control of my body with a spell.

You can imagine that I don't want to be reminded of that ever again, yet that's what happens whenever I look into the mirror.
