Watching this show gets me thinking.  When I was a little girl I wanted to learn to dance.  I wanted to take ballet or tap or jazz lessons.  Instead?  I was allowed to play tee-ball one year.  My parents knew I wanted to learn to dance, at 6-7 years old my mom used to call me in to watch the ballroom competitions on PBS when they'd come on because ( Read more... )

I guess I just feel like I'll never be able to attain what I may have if I'd started young. I'll never be as flexible as I possibly could've been, never have the kind of strength needed for it like I could've. I followed a different path and gained strength in other ways. I'll never be a professional dancer and I'm perfectly ok with that, I guess I just wanted to be able to do it and know that I do it well, y'know? I want to be able to dance well enough to be able to dance with abandon and not hurt myself or someone else. :-P

I remember when you first started dancing in Cville, you went from it being simply a fun hobby to being serious, and really good, at it. Take away all the douchey guy BS that was around at the time, it is one of the times you've been your happiest, imo ( ... )
