hello friends

Hello livejournal. You're like the friend from college I keep in touch with only sporadically, or the grandparents I always forget to call or email. We had some good times back in our heyday, but now I only log in once in a blue moon on a random day off, for my triannual dose of omigod-people-having-babies-and-married, tales-from-abroad-and-grad- ( Read more... )

I still read livejournal (although I don't post that often) and I definitely care. I'm looking forward to being one of your friends in San Francisco in a few months(!!ohmygodIcan'treallybelieveI'mmovingtheresosoon!). I'll be a quarter of a century old in four days. I could do another parenthetical oh my god about that, but I won't. I think the transitoriness you're talking about is partially the time of life that we're in. I mean, since moving to Ann Arbor a little over two years ago, I've lived in six different places. I think of it as practice for the big move of going out to San Francisco.

I'm excited for you to be here too! You're probably right about transitoriness and being in your twenties. But it's multiplied out here by like whoa.

I had the opportunity to live in Fremont for my job. I think I'll say no to that partly because of what you wrote down about people never wanting a relationship. I want someone I can marry and have kids with. That kind of thing. Hope everything is going well with you. Keep your chin up. The world is only what we make of it. And I believe you can make a hell of a difference in it.

didn't see this post until just now. if it helps, san francisco and the suburbs are basically different words. and the queer world and the straight world are also different worlds. so if you are still thinking about moving to the bay area to live in the suburbs and get married and have babies, I am really not the person you should be talking to. I have no idea what Fremont would be like.
