She's a mermaid, slipping through the water even faster than her normal body could do, darting beneath the waves and breathing her element. Her tail, shimmering blue and silver scales, flickers to speed her along. Sapphires adorn her ears and neck. When she surfaces, finally, she rests on a small rock outcropping, and plays her harp

The chaos, the despair, the inevitable blood in the water due to broken timbers and flailing bodies was an old seductive song in and of itself. Thus while he says nothing and does nothing to prevent her actions, he doesn't leave either. Merely watching while moving about the area in lazy circles.]
[ooc: The man is a merman, half-man, half-great white shark.]

Then she sees Sephiroth. As if the man has been forgotten that quickly, she darts over to the mer-man instead. The hunting shark. Of course she's drawn closer to that strength.]
There was only one possible outcome.

Indeed. The majority of humanity is often too weak to resist the call of the siren when they hear it. Thus they pay the price for their weakness.

Ohh? Think some can resist it?

Let's get some more. This is fun.

She brushes the strange incongruous feeling off. As she is now, what does she care past the initial moments of the fun of making them come to her? After that, whatever end they meet is so much less important.
Still, she teases her sudden partner.]
Can't bring them to you on your own?

Not how I hunt. I don't need any kind of magic. [She does it all on her own.] I'm all about the sneak attack. [Like most morays, she usually stays holed up until she bursts out to kill, but she does what she want, and she felt like coming out to see the confusion.] Usually I'm working with the others. [There's no sign of these "others", but Reno seems to assume Ami will know what she's talking about.
She darts forward, biting into another of the sailors for good measure. She isn't even really hungry. She likes to see the blood.]

[She doesn't draw blood. Each victim of hers drowns, the ones she attaches herself to so fiercely that they're drawn right into her world, a world they can't hope to survive in.
The black-haired man hadn't had a chance; though just for a moment, the very moment the fight went out of him, she'd almost looked shocked.
Until Reno had come. In the dream, as this cold mermaid, it's easy to leave behind the body, which sinks slowly. She stays a mild distance away, not swimming into the red miasma left by Reno's kill. She makes her own judgment.]
Humans are really easy.

normally he would take to water as a fish did to the same element, but under the spell, he sinks. ]

She glances towards the objects already sinking slowly to the ocean floor, as if they'll give her a clue.
She holds a finger to her lips, then holds it out to touch Riku's. A bubble of breathable air forms at her fingertip.]

Don't move so much. It can still be broken.
[She really doesn't understand herself sometimes. She knows, of course, what's happened between them before now, in a vague way shifted to make sense within this dream. But sparing him in the last second surprises the girl who'd claim she can cut down anyone.]

He wanted to reach.
The harp was the only thing he could hear. The only thing that mattered. Managing to come out of the wreckage with little more than a burned back and lower leg, he does his best to swim right through the mess of singed planks and lifeless bodies.
His expression is dazed, vacant, almost euphoric as he moves closer, trying to crawl up the jagged rock.

She reaches for him with a playful smile, to pull him closer, beckoning; surely she's accepting his advances. (Of course she has no such intention.)

There wasn't anything he wouldn't do, just to be around her, just to be this close and in such awe of her power. Bleeding, wet, and wounded, he drags himself up fully onto the small alcove, slumping against one of the smaller boulders just to revel in all of this.
A slow smile spreads across his face, almost humming along with the tune peacefully.

She'd say that, no matter their relationship, and in the dream, she doesn't seem to register that it's Zack, someone she's treated neutrally or even well, who's appeared before her several times, who she knows.
She seizes him instead. She wraps her arms around him in a fierce, tight embrace that has nothing to do with tenderness or even passion, and leaps from the rock into the water with him.

It's all that Axel's entirely sure of. He doesn't know how he ended up on a boat, or even why it's going down- but every fibre of his being is screaming at him to climb, to get away from the ever advancing waves.
He really doesn't have many options, though. The ship's mast was already splintering after their harsh impact with the rocks, and Axel can't see any other escape. He's slowly beginning to panic, arms wrapped tightly around the bowsprit- which remarkably has managed to remain unscathed up until now.
Not that it's done him much good. Any moment, that'll be underwater too.]

If she recognizes him, it doesn’t show; perhaps it simply doesn’t make a difference to this dream, where he is a sailor and thus her prey. To encourage him to let go, she begins to sing again, an enchanting melody of sleeping in, of spending the day sitting on the clock tower with his friends, of ice cream cones eaten quickly before they melt in the hot days.
Her voice becomes everything he wants, to lead him straight down to her.]

Oddly enough, Axel’s reminded of those warm days spent with Roxas and Xion (the memory of her present in this dream, as it sometimes is) atop the clocktower- the relaxed, content feeling that was often present during those days, is somewhat the same as what he’s feeling right now. Of his time in the Organisation, the hours spent with them is what Axel misses most- so to find something else that makes him feel like this? It’s an escape as much as it’s a joy.
Unwrapping his arms from around the bowsprit, Axel begins lowering himself carefully into the water without a second thought as to what he’s doing, eyes slightly glazed over, but focused on Ami.]

Just as they dip beneath the surface, Mercury touches Axel’s lips with a finger, and a small bubble forms that allows him to breathe normally. Her smile is somewhat off, but surely the gesture speaks for itself. She’s saving him.
At least for now. They go deeper and deeper, fish and stranger mer-creatures surrounding them on all sides, in elegantly synchronized schools or recklessly alone. Strangely, she hasn’t spoken yet.]
