cerebro is quite an exciting thing, don't you think.

[ The room that you could step into is one of many in the CIA installment that he has been spending time in. It is surrounded by several pieces of equipment. Charles is standing in the center, looking around and examining Cerebro. He moves his fingers over the headpiece, feeling it carefully ( Read more... )

[ Eleven has already made himself comfortable on a spinning chair in the back of the circular room, hands folded in his lap with a smile, this time dressed in a green jacket. It's been awhile, Charles! ]

Looks a bit prototype-y if you ask me.

[ He makes a little face. ] It works better than any prototype I've seen.

Yes, well, prototypes usually work the best until the next version is made. That's why it's a prototype.

[ He pushes himself away from the railings, rolling in the chair, and comes to a stop at the railings where Charles normally stands. He tilts his head back looking at the device, then pulls out his sonic screwdriver. Oh look, Charles, all the gadgets.

The Doctor shakes it out and points at the device, then looks over the readings. ]

Oh, very nice. And this is in the sixties? Beautiful! Though, whose it for, I wonder? Someone with a vast amount of telepathic power, yes?

1962, to be exact.

[ Well, it doesn't look like he's damaging it, so for now, Charles is just going to keep watching to make sure it doesn't start to look like it. He can't help but smile, just a bit, at the Doctor's deduction of who it was for. Oh yes, there's a bit of pride in that. ]

That is exactly who it is for.

[ Moves to place his fingers on it. ]

It is called Cerebro.

It is.

[Ami gives a light, habitual smirk as she steps fully into the room, heeled shoes sounding against the floor. Of course the goddess of knowledge has been drawn to this dream and this place. Humans are becoming remarkable, in some ways.]

I'd like to know more about it. Want to show me?

Show you? Show you what, my dear?

['My dear'? Her lips form a frown; she's never been comfortable with endearments. But she lets it go in favor of learning more about the machine. She nods towards it.]

How it works. The parts that make up its whole.

[Technology, especially technology she didn't immediately recognize, was always something of .. interest. It was man-made, certainly. From Earth, constructed around the nineteen sixties, perhaps. She's ever so curious, wandering forth with naught but a little glance to Charles himself.]

Some sort of enhancer, isn't it?

That would be accurate. Exactly accurate.

[ He looks at her, a grin spread across his features. He is impressed! ]

Hm. I'm sure I have a device similar to this- and one that does the opposite, even.

So it enhances your telepathic field?

helpmeguideit September 28 2011, 05:59:17 UTC
The opposite?

[ Mind your curiosity, Charles. ]

It could enhance anyone's telepathic field if they have the skills of a telepath.

[ Usagi's never been one for science-y things. Still, even she can't deny on some level that this place she's stepped in to the moment she fell asleep isn't overwhelming.

So, for a little while, she idly strolls around, following wires that attach to the helmet that's being suspended by the roof of the dome they stand under. ]

It's really something... but what's it do?

It enhances telepathic skills, darling.

[ Steps around to approach her ]

Telepathic?

[ Even in the presence of a stranger she's not too worried when he gets closer. In fact, since he knows about this place, she's more than okay with him walking around. ]

You mean mind reading and stuff like that?

[ She tears her eyes away from Cerebro, eyes shining rather curiously when she asks the question. ]

Exactly. I mean mindreading --

[ Nod. She seems friendly and interested. ]

Alnd things ike that.
