[ Looks can be deceiving. You find yourself in a white room with a green anchor on the side next to the door. There's a magnifying glass in the middle of a table, with a few chairs beside it. The Doctor is standing in front of the magnifying glass, now with a green jacket instead of the tweed that everyone might be used to. His face is grim, hands ( Read more... )

[The white room almost passes without notice; she's used to the institutionalized setting of the hospital. It's the Doctor that draws her attention.]

What are these? [A nod to the buttons; she is not one to simply rush ahead where she's ignorant.]

[ He doesn't look at her. ]

Buttons on your fate. Pick a button, either button, and it will very well define the rest of your life. If we were actually in the real place. Not my dreams.

[This isn't like him, to avoid directness, to avoid her eyes; then she hears the reason in what he says.]

What does each button mean? [Of course her eyes have strayed to the red waterfall.]

The green is visitors and the red is for the patients. Except, we're not on Apalapachia. We're in my head. So, the buttons mean something entirely different.

[ He gestures to the wall. ] We're already in Green Anchor.

[This was... This place. This horrible place full of pain and heartbreak and hatred and handbots. She remembered being here, even though technically speaking she hadn't yet been. She knew it would come. Knew how it would play out, when doors would be shut and hands would be pressed and all the horrible aches and upset that everyone within her walls would feel.

There are chairs, all unused as of yet. At least until she finds herself flopping down into one next to her not-tweed-wearing Doctor.]

It's a shame about Chen-7. It would have been nice to see the mirrored mountains.

You're a time machine, dear. We can see Apalapachia whenever we want.

[ Curiously the younger one studies the door and it's two buttons. Romana refrains from pressing one of them for now, simply letting her curiosity stew as she looks around at the surroundings of this dream. When she spotted the Doctor she almost spoke up-- but from where she stood she noticed the expression upon his face and thought better of it. ]

You found your way here too. I forgot how persistent you can be, Romana.

You make it sound as if it's a bad thing.

[ From her seat in the middle of the room, Usagi idly tilts her head as she's finally conscious of the dream she's appeared in. She's curious about the green logo with the white anchor but that curiosity shifts from that to the Doctor.

Her mouth opens to say something -- her body automatically starts shifting so that she can hop off the seat but she stops to really look at the Doctor who looks so pensive and serious. ]

... Doctor?

[ With that answer, she moves off her chair and closes the space between them to stand at his side. ]

What happened?
