There was a girl in a rather short skirt, blue-haired, perched pertly on the pole next to Naruto's, within easy speaking distance still.

Below them was a peaceful scene and, to her, that was reason enough to be discontent. True, she worked for peace, in her own way, but she was finding that peace didn't suit her; and thus she'd become involved in the battles of other worlds over time.

Still, her voice was light, airy, even playful.

"You look so sour on such a fine day!"

Naruto looked over towards the blue-haired girl. The breeze fluttered her skirt a bit, and Naruto perked up at the sight of it.

"...Who are you?" he asked, getting to his feet. He was in his traditional get up of an orange and black tracksuit. The tail ends of his headband flapped in the wind. "I don't remember seeing you before'ttebayo!"

Oh, he didn't know. She grinned - fortunately for him, ignorant of the look he'd given her skirt.

"Mercury," she answered. "Want to show me the village, Naruto-kun?"

"Mercury?" Naruto perked at the name. "...Mercury? Are you the same one?" But her hair...! It was blue!

Vanille wandered around the city really lost and rather confused. The writing here was all different. They were like the runes in her world, but far more intricate. She couldn't understand what anything said!

Then the city itself was really crowded. It was even more crowded than Nautilus! She pushed her way through the crowd, looking extremely out of place with her tribal-like clothing.

"Oh! Excuse me! Sorry! Pardon me!" she squeaked as she went against the current of people not knowing where she would end up.

Naruto perked when he saw a hint of reddish hair going through the city. He stood on the pole, leaning over a bit to try and get a better look, hand coming up to shield his eyes from the sun.

His blue orbs went wide.

"Vanille!" He called out, and he started waving wildly, bouncing from one foot to another atop the tall phone line. "VANIIIIIIIIIIIILE!!!"

Vanille looked up to where her name was being called. She saw Naruto balanced expertly from atop one of the poles.

Her hand raised high into the air. "NARUTO! HEEEEEEEY!" she called out towards him.

She then started wiggling her way through the crowd towards the phone line.

Naruto jumped off the pole to meet her. He spun a bit in the air before landing, catching his balance as he trotted over to meet her. A few people in town glanced at them as he made his way over, grinning.

"Whoa... this time, you're in my dream!" He exclaimed.

[You know what the problem with peace is? It means that demons like Laharl get a lot more uncomfortable in any peaceful place. He was born for battle, got his title by battle, and regularly finds himself in battle. Sure, there's the occasional peaceful day at his castle, but "peaceful" for the Netherworld constitutes "explosions everywhere for absolutely no reason other than the Prinnies screwed up again".

So, he moves around the crowd, not bothering to say "sorry" or "excuse me" to anyone. He doesn't know these people, why should he do that?

It's a moment before he notices Naruto, atop the telephone pole. And when he does, he immediately jumps up, landing on the pole beside his.]

[ Naruto's head whips to the side, looking over at Laharl. The blond blinked, not recognizing him--but of course, it wasn't was if he knew everyone in town.

Still... he felt like he would of noticed someone that stood out so much. ]

Huh? What do you mean?

This. [He jerks his thumb towards the scene below them.] Is there some kind of celebration here?

This is just Konoha on a normal day! Its just a huge city is all!

[What happens when you drop a clumsy Pokemon trainer in a ninja village all by herself? Disaster, that's what. So here's Bianca, a bandanna tied on her head in place of her usual hat, and a few kunai in hands. She's peeking at them curiously, trying to figure out what in the worlds they are.

[ Naruto finds himself grasping the kunai right under the base of the blade with two fingers so he could halt its path without snatching it out of Bianca's fingers. The blue eyed boy gave her a strange look. ]

Careful with those'ttebayo! You could really hurt yourself!

A-ah, sorry! [She bows a couple of times in apology, although she is also a little startled.] This tall guy with a mask gave me these , but I-- I don't really know what to do with them, so I was trying to, um...

[... no, no one ever told Bianca not to accept gifts from strangers. Or maybe they did and she simply didn't pay attention.]

The town reminds him a little bit of Wutai and a little bit of Edge. It's full and busy and - comfortable. He's not sure how he ended up here or where he's going, probably just got done with a delivery and it occurs to him that he should look for something to bring back to Tifa and the kids. For some reason he's carrying his mutated coin bank in the curl of one arm as he moves through the crowd. With his shaggy blond hair and too bright blue eyes, he stands out in the crowd and from a distance, perhaps, looks just a bit like another spiky haired blond.

Now if he could only figure out where to get a decent meal?

...The hell was that pink thing?

High above Cloud's head, Naruto was now on his hands and knees, leaning forward like a cat perched on an edge and surveying below. In reality, he was trying to get a better look at the thing Cloud was holding. Besides! With his blond hair and decidedly "cool" appearance, he stood out. Of course! Girls kept glancing at him as he passed!

Why couldn't Naruto get that kind of attention?!

He pushed it to the back of his mind, before taking a deep breath.

"Oi!" Naruto called out, waving a hand wildly in the air. "HEY! GUY WITH THE PINK THING!"

He heard the yelling and Cloud's head turned a little, wondering who wass getting yelled for. Guy with the... pink...

His face turned and he shoot a look down at the pink creature snuggled up in the crook of his arm. He'd told the little girl he'd take care of it, didn't he? He supposed that made him a 'guy with the pink thing'. Lifting his head, he found the source of the noise.

And blinked.

Was that a kid on a telephone pole?

Not in the habit of yelling, he simply stood, waiting to see what the kid wanted him for. And - who'd let him climb all the way up there in the first place?
