Character Information
General
Canon Source: Kuroshitsuji II
Canon Format: Anime.
Character's Name: The name 'Hannah Anafeloz' (also translated as Annafellows), is not Hannah's real name. We do not know her true name, just as we do not know the true of the other demon's within Kuroshitsuji. It is a name assumed to better fit within the human world and which is, admittedly, very plain.
Character's Age: Hannah looks to be in her late twenties or early thirties; that is very much not the case. Though we do not know whether she is younger or older than Sebastian or Claude, she does hold a great deal of power that puts her on par with them. With that, we can assume she is of a similar age - that is, she is well over 3,000 years old.
Conditional: If your character is 13 years of age or under, please clarify how they will be played.

Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities:
Hannah has all the abilities that appear to be the norm with demons within the Kuroshitsuji universe. That is to say, she displays:
-Enhanced strength.
-Enhanced speed.
-Enhanced and inhumanly fast healing .
-The ability to change her form (as with taking on a human appearance to hide her true form).
-She has the ability to hide a number of firearms on her being - a pistol just under her right breast, for example. Within her body, she stores the legendary sword Laevateinn - a sword which can be removed by a second party, via reaching and pulling it from her mouth and throat. The sword itself is stated as being one of the few things that can fatally wound a demon - it is speculative as to whether or not this applies to Hannah herself. She is noticeable pain whenever the sword is removed, and by all logic, it would be safe to assume that her insides would suffer considerable tearing and trauma from the extraction and sheathing. Yet Hannah herself is the picture of perfect health - the details are not elaborated on in the series, but is possible that as the swords sheath that Hannah holds some kind of contract with it and is as such, immune to its effects.
She is a master manipulator and liar; this is seen through her deception of both Claude and Sebastian. She is patient and most of all, cunning, especially when it comes to getting the things she wants.
We can assume through her ability to form a satanic contract with humans (in return for their souls to consume) that she also the abilities of traditional demons. Theoretically this would include:
-The manipulation and seduction of humans to a life of immorality and sin.
-The ability to possess a human host when not in contract.
-The ability to shift forms.
-Divination.
-The ability to perform 'witchcraft'.
Conditional: If your character has no superhuman canon abilities, what dormant ability will you give them?
Weapons: Laevateinn, misc. firearms.

Character Personality:
Hannah comes in three very different flavours.
Maid Hannah - The Wallflower
When we first see Hannah, we are greeted with a very timid and a very submissive woman. She stands with her head bowed and is very much the epitome of fragile looking. She appears to frighten easily and is seemingly unwilling to fight back or speak up against her abusive master. It is easy to then simply assume from this first perspective that Hannah is weak-willed and passive in every sense of the words. She is very much, it seems, to be seen and not heard within the Trancy household.
She is, however, not without her physical strength, no matter how somewhat lacking her psychological strength seems to be. She survives the physical and mental trauma of Alois destroying her left eye and continues on with daily life as normal, although she is understandably more jumpy and easily startled by Alois’ presence. The abuse (both physical and verbal) is immediately established in episode one. Alois does not like Hannah; he barely tolerates her presence and often questions Claude on why exactly she is there, stating “as long as I have you there is no need for those other useless fellows”. It calls to question why exactly Hannah sticks around and why exactly Alois does not simply get rid of her. Simply; Hannah is useful, despite what initial appearances show her as. It is not simply that she is useful to Alois, but she is something of an extension to Claude Faustus.
Hannah does not only obey Alois, but she also takes direct orders from Claude. This becomes more apparent in episode seven, but we are getting ahead of ourselves here. Firstly, let us look at Hannah in episode six. This is where we get our first indication that is she is a demon. She is further subjected to abuse from Alois, but she plays a crucial role in Alois' plans to attract the attention of and to get closer to Ciel Phantomhive. Alois holds a ball of sorts, inviting miscellaneous guests and people Ciel Phantomhive considers 'friends' as well as Ciel himself. She is, as it were, a scape coat to antagonise Ciel: she stuns the guests with her beauty and proceeds to hypnotize and turn them on each other by playing an armonica. She is ultimately foiled by Sebastian, though not before the armonica's demonic powers are explained. From this we are given a very brief, but very important taste of what Hannah’s true character is; she is powerful and she is subtle.
In episode seven, we begin to get a clearer picture of Hannah; a further taste and hint of what is it to come. She continues to takes direct orders from Claude and allows him to wield Laevateinn. In episode seven we come to understand that she is a demon and as such shows feats of incredible enhanced strength, marksmanship, speed and agility while fighting Sebastian Michaelis. She is not a weak willed woman in combat; she is focussed and dedicated. Although her physical strength does ultimately much up to that of Sebastian , it is still very much clear that Hannah Anafeloz could very easily take out Alois Trancy. She is not contracted to him, so why then does she serve him so faithfully?
To understand that, we must look at what Hannah's life was before Alois Trancy - or as she knows him, Jim Macken.
Past Hannah - The Demon
Hannah Anafeloz is a demon. It is as such, that she is just as cunning and just as manipulative as both Claude and Sebastian.
In episode eleven we are given something of an explanation to much as what has progressed within the series thus far. Hannah explains in her own words that she spent much of her demon life wasting time being a demon; the specifics are not given, but we are given the brief sight of her lounging, being pampered by Thompson, Canterbury and Timber. She immediately stands out against Claude and Sebastian in that she appears to have a permanent place of residence and servants. She does not roam the way it is implied Sebastian has done in the past. We are not given much insight into her character at first; she appears cold, aloof and very much bored. There is an aura about her that she is important, or at the very least she was important at some point. What exactly the full extent of her past entails and what her character was like is wide open for speculation. When you carefully look at her residence (a castle, dating at least a few hundred years before the series) and the way she carries herself, there is a definite hint of past arrogance that has bled away into sheer boredom. It is possible that Hannah has stayed there simply because she is used to the surroundings.
It is during her time here that she is summoned by Luca Macken, a child seeking to grant a wish for his brother. Hannah is initially taken aback by him; she is surprised by his lack of outright fear. Nontheless, she is impressed and forms a contract with them. It is during this short time, that Hannah begins to feel.
In her own words, Luca becomes dear to her. While observing him with his brother, she realises that he is a pure soul, entirely selfless in his actions. Everything he does is for his older brother. It is something which manages to crack the shell of Hannah’s heart; so much so that when the time comes to take Luca’s soul, Hannah is physically and emotionally distraught by it, especially after Luxa thanks her (“no one had ever thanked me before”).
Hannah’s affection for Alois becomes a little clearer knowing this; she wants to make Alois happy because that is all Luca has ever wanted. She loves Alois because Luca loves Alois.
The extent of Hannah’s love is something which is filled with speculation; it can be assumed that as a demon, her perception of love is skewed and warped - it is clear that she has some maternal affection for him. When it comes to Alois it also hinted that there is an underlying sexual desire for him too. If Alois were to ask or to order her into a position which required her to act on the underlying sexual desire, Hannah would likely do so with only some amount of hesitation.
She is after all, only concerned with pleasing Alois as best she can.
Which brings us to:
Present Hannah - The Lover
From episode seven onwards, Hannah begins to show her true colours slowly and methodically. It begins with Hannah consuming Alois Trancy’s eye after he is murdered by Claude Faustus. Even though he is physically dead, Hannah is still loyal and still determined to grant both Alois’ wish and Luca’s wish to make Alois happy. From there, it progresses to seducing Ciel Phantomhive’s affection and basic trust from Claude Faustus to herself. Hannah is patient and she is cunning; she has been waiting for her moment for a long time and it presents itself when Claude ‘blends’ the souls of Ciel and Alois together.
Hannah is kind towards Ciel; she is understanding of his temper outbursts and that is how she lures him. When successful, that is when she strikes; by using the eye of Alois, she is able to bring his consciousness to the surface, allowing Alois to possess Ciel’s body. This is where Hannah’s true cunning and affection is shown clearly - while Alois stands and waits in vain for Claude to acknowledge him, Hannah waits patiently for the moment where the truth comes out. She continues to take his abuse right until the moment Claude reveals that she is the one who contracted with his brother and Hannah carefully and very sweetly spins Alois a story of love and affection. She asks him to contract with her so that he ca be with her and Luca forever.
Hannah Anafeloz is a demon; she is not just after Aois Trancy’s love, she is after his soul. It is not in the same hungry, disconnected way a regular demon would lust after a soul; Hannah genuinely wants Alois to be with herself and Luca forever. Everything Hannah does, is for the sake of the Masters she loves.
Hannah is not shown to have any affiliation with an animal the same Claude or Sebastian do, but her parallels with the Latrodectus geometricus (black widow) are undeniable. The myths of the black widow consuming their mates, for example, are the most obvious. However, physically speaking, Hannah’s true form has great similarities to that of the Latrodectus geometricus in particular, her underskirt skeleton and facial markings. It also blends in perfectly with the Trancy household’s affiliation with spider’s in general.
Hannah shows consistent levels of subtle manipulation and absolute cunning throughout the series. She is a patient woman above all else; she is willing to wait for things rather than rushing in head first. She is level headed in ways that Claude and Sebastian are not (their continuous bickering over Ciel Phantomhive’s soul, for example, is not something she shows particular interest in outside of Alois’ involvement). At the crux of it; Hannah is a calm woman. She is not easily angered nor easily excited. She is as ambitious and unafraid to use her obvious assets to her advantage or even use others to get what she wants. She does not actively hate or dislike anyone (even Claude) - but she is shown to have some displeasure with certain circumstances and to show some impatience when Alois is still clinging onto the hope of Claude loving him. There is a subtle hint of jealousy and selfishness to her as much there is selflessness - she wants Alois for herself, but she understands that he loves Claude and so at the end of it, she accepts him too. Anything that makes Alois happy makes her happy.
It is not a healthy mentality to have - there are deep psychological issues lurking under the surface that make Hannah so very human and also, to an extent, very vulnerable. Her dedication has wide windows open for Alois and even Claude to take advantage of; no matter how much she may understand she is being used, Hannah will follow orders because they will make Alois happy, and that is all she truly wants.

Character Plans: Hannah will be coming in post series, and therefore very much still under the effects of dying and being in Nirvana. It will be something of a shock to find herself alive again, and possibly something a small disappoint to find herself back to square one when faced with an Alois from a different point in time.

Network Post Sample;
[This is how it goes; you will first be greeted by hair. It is white in colour and its length, through the limited space of your screen, will seem endless. In reality, it stops just by the back of the knees. It pools somewhat, because Hannah is sitting. Her NV you see, is not her hands; it is on the ground, forgotten, because Hannah has much more pressing matters to attend you, see.
Her flesh, for example. She shifts, draws her hair over her shoulder and this is where you will see her face; brows drawn in concentration, mouth set in a thin line as she traces the back of her hand with her fingertips. Her flesh is real, and that is the most perplexing thing to one who should be dead. She makes a noise; something of a sigh before she pinches the back of her hand, just to be sure-
And then her eyes turn to the NV; two eyes, blue (because blue is human, and if she is flesh and bone once more, in this human disguise, then blue is appropriate) and an eyebrow lifts. Hannah is for extents and purposes, intrigued. She is not panicked as she picks the NV up to stare down at it.]
This device is somewhat out of time - though I feel that may be appropriate. I feel somewhat in the same situation.
[Hannah does not panic because she can feel the soft tug of an old contract (though that in itself should be alarming, because there had been no need for contracts in Nirvana). She does not smile, but there is a small uplift to the corner of her mouth.]
You will forgive me if I may push to priorities; I am looking for my Master. [She pauses, glances down at her empty palm.] Though I wonder if that should perhaps be plural.
[Not a lot of what is happening is making sense; but Nirvana has something of a lasting effect right now, and so Hannah stays calm, does not do much of anything except for wait her orders.]
Third Person Sample:
Hannah considered her situation carefully and with reason; it was not, she realised, home and nor was it ideal. But this was where she was and so it was as such, that she must adapt. Siren’s Port had not been part of her plans; had not been anything she could have possibly accounted for, but yet here she was by herself. And perhaps that was the problem; that she was alone.
She frowned, fingertips brushing over her knuckles. She had never been alone, not really. There had always been someone with her - but that was not entirely the problem. It was who was missing. She sighed, nails dragging across her skin; a constant reminder that she was flesh, that she was real and breathing and not in Nirvana. Her fingers froze; hovered above her knuckles before sliding through and linking with their counterparts.
The problem of course, was really not that she was alone. The problem was that she did not know why.
Hannah sighed again and folded a leg over the other and looked down at her lap with calm eyes. The NV sat there, balanced perfectly on her thigh, opened and for the most part, untouched save for her brief communication attempt earlier. Technology that she should not have had, because it was far too advanced for the nineteenth century. Her frown deepened and she unlinked her fingers, and traced her fingers over the screen. She considered her situation again; considered how and why she had ended up here, considered how and when to explore and find familiarity.
It was difficult to pin point what exactly to do without orders. But none had come, not yet at least, and Hannah wondered briefly if this was a test. If she should take matters into her own hands; shown her worth, as it were. Her frown lifted and faded away and she let out a breath and closed her eyes. Nirvana's lasting effects allowed her to focus on the positive easily, but Hannah's mind still drifted to darker places; imagined worst case scenarios and such like. A smart thing, perhaps. One of, must consider all possible things - that was the nature of a Trancy servant. Prepared and capable.
Hannah considered her situation again; thought hard on whether she felt prepared and capable and then again thought it not relevant at all. If Alois wanted her as such, then that was exactly what she would be, regardless of personal feelings.
She opened her eyes and glanced down at the NV once more, her mind set. She would wait, just a little longer and then set off on her own. If familiarity would not come to her, then she would find it herself.
