[With his first week of school in Luceti over, Kurt has taken advantage of the day off to make something a little special. A pizza, in fact. It's for a special little friend he made, so given how ridiculous this is, he's done his best to make the pizza when Kitty wasn't at home to call him out for it. Once it's done, he'll be appearing (quite ( Read more... )

[He has to think about it before responding.] Fangs, wings, claws... I don't know. It depends on what kind of demon we're talking about. But it's common for people to think of demons in a negative connotation.

[Oh hey, sup fellow Brigade dude. He recognizes you from the meetings, but being new, he doesn't have your name memorized yet.]

Well, why wouldn't they? They're supposed to be definably evil. In other worlds... apparently demon doesn't have the same meaning.

[And you're just more fodder for Haruki's grand Brigade plans He totally knows your name since you're a newbie, but no actual conversation yet.] Yeah, that's why it's hard to pin down what a demon is; a lot of worlds have different descriptions for monsters, and even differentiate them from demons. Other places, they're one and the same.

Mine is fairly simple. They're evil, fallen angels. But... talking to other people, demons are apparently misunderstood. And not so bad. And... it's a little confusing. [And he can't help but think all of this is him being deceived.]

The word "demon" has several meanings depending on the culture. For example, in most of the Christian world, a "demon" is a lesser devil and servant of Satan. In Japan, "demon" and "devils" are a sort of youkai that typically dwell in Makai, their realm beyond our own. It really varies widely.

My familiar, Koakuma, is a succubus. Her name translates to "little devil", as she is a lesser demon summoned from Makai itself. Perhaps you should speak with her.

[Ahahahaha. He really, really isn't sure he wants to chat it up with demons just yet. He's not quite taken with the idea of befriending demons.]

Yeah, I guess I could. [It occurs to him he's talking to someone who summons demons. Good grief, what has he got himself into?] But wouldn't she try to seduce me?

She wouldn't know how.

But... she's a succubus. Isn't that her job?

Uh---yeah, I actually took a demon to the prom.

Well, a former demon.

How exactly can you be a former demon? [And... why would you take one to the prom?]

She had this amulet thing, and when it broke she turned human. Which, you know, is good because she was a man-hating vengeance demon. Did a lotta bad stuff.

Was she a demon when you took her to the prom?

Just depends on what they're doin', I guess! Does it matter what they look like?

That's what I'm asking. [Waaaait a second. He's peering now.]

... you're Sonic.

Well then, that's what I'm saying. Doesn't matter what they look like, just what is they're up to. But that goes for anyone, demon or not, right?

[He was a little surprised at that, but pleasantly so. Here, have a big smile in return. (And I forgot to fill out Kurt's permissions before replying to this, so I'll do it in a second, but it's all good, just don't tell him he's fictional! XD) He won't do it back.]

Yeah, I am! True and blue, and faster than the wind! Have I met you before somewhere?

[Well, he agrees with all that. So that works for him.]

No, not really. I've just heard about you. I'm friends with Terra.

Mm most people see them as being evil horned creatures with wings. Ah not all of them are like that though. It's a shame that media and culture has given them such a negative name. They're not all bad.

[... what. Demons. With bad publicity. This just...]

Yeah. [He really has no response for this. All of these responses are just making it abundantly clear that Luceti is ridiculous.] Well, that's the media for you, right?

[ Hey Helios doesn't watch TV or deal with publicity too much. But he finds out from his students. Besides he has one the demons with the worst publicity stop by at his castle occasionally. ]

Mm it's a shame really. I always like to give people, er mythical beings too, chances. It's quite funny that most of my human students don't even know they're in school with demons at all! But...once you show them what they are it automatically reverts into hatred or fear. [ He sighs. ] You can't judge a book by it's cover as the saying goes.

I know what that's like. My friends and I are mutants. We went to school for years and had lots of friends. But once people found out who we were... all we had left were each other.
