If James looked, it wouldn't prove too difficult to spy the smaller man. Perched precariously atop a barrel not far down the docks from James' ship, he was either telling a story to or trying to diffuse a sticky situation with some possibly off-duty marines ( ... )

James took in Jack's 'cold weather' appearance, and the apparent replacements for Murtogg and Mullroy, poor men. If he noticed Jack's possible lack of health, he didn't comment as he strode over to the colorful pirate. He was taking in all the details he could, however, overjoyed to see the man again.

"He's not the chief of anything, you know." James said, with slight mischief, as he had snuck up behind Jack. Hopefully it didn't give the poor ragtag pirate too much of a fright.

Jack stopped short mid-sentence, hands poised to emphasize a point. Heart giving a rather emphatic thud, he blinked.

Since it seemed so helpful, he blinked again, trying to regroup. That voice had to be who he thought it was, because the marines seemed to be standing rather better now and that voice had written of having quite the rank.

Feet dropping to thud against the barrel he swiveled, arms wide, delightedly grinning. "Co-something Norrie!"

The poor marines were obviously dismissed, never to know what the cannibals did next.

"Captain Jack Sparrow." James said warmly. He would apologize for stealing Jack's attention, but he's not very sorry.

"And how have you been?" There's a hint of concern there-- James has, after all, not been hearing good things.
