His lips quirked into a smile. "Unless you want a round of chocolate milk shots, I take it you wanted to talk to me?"

"How you interpret my expression is up to you," he says with a slight shrug. "And I hardly fault you for making acquaintances, whatever the difference in your ages may be. But yes, I wished to speak to you. I promised to inform you when I had found a place to build, and I believe I have done so."

"Well, then I'm interpreting it as 'Gee, Captain, you look hard at work, reconnoitering the island watering hole.'" He pulled on his beer quickly before narrowing his eyes at Spock. "And come on, now, she's not old." He always did appreciate a woman in her prime.
His eyebrows shot up, a wide grin on his face. "You found a spot? Hot damn." He tipped back the bottle, quickly downing the last gulp. He slapped Spock hard on the shoulder, eyes twinkling. "Lead the way."

Spock had anticipated the possibility that the captain's interest in his building project would wane with time, and so his quick readiness to follow where Spock led was something of a surprise. "It is not close," he warns as they exit the bar, "but not very far as island distances are considered." He had seen a young man earlier riding a hoverboard that flashed red and gold in the sun; Spock was not envious, but he could not help being curious where such a thing might be procured. If nothing else, it would make travel easier-- and likely give Jim something to distract him besides the bar.
