I am geeking out far too much about prion biology. This is mostly because the research into it reads as such an interesting story. Narrative in science is one of my buttons.

Have you read the Science Of Discworld series? I can really recommend it if narrative in science is your thing.

Also those books are just fascinating anyway. I learnt so much from them.
