[the transmission begins with a low groan, and a distinctly Scottish accent comes through.]

Mr. Palmer, I was under the impression that the speed limit was to be obeyed at all times, not mindlessly doubled or perhaps -

[the man stops. The rubble around him shifts noisily as he takes a moment to look around.]

Oh…dear. I do believe we’ve taken a ( Read more... )

[The Scotsman stops in his tracks, somewhere distant.]

Abigail?

[here are quick Ducky steps as he backtracks.]

A speaker phone! Oh, and there's a little note..."use this", how informative. Oh, and there's...

[-video file- switches on. He looks surprised and moves his face back.]

Ah!

Ducky, it is you! Oh...hold on!

[She fiddles around and switches to video as well]

This thing is so frustrating. But that's not important right now. Where are you?

Well, I'm afraid I'm not quite certain. In point of fact, I feel rather uncertain about where where I am is. Has something happened to the crime scene?

[no, that's not it. He dismisses it and moves right along.]

The last thing I remember is Palmer about to run into a tree on the side of the road. I - don't suppose you would tell me if I were hallucinating, since you would then be only a construct of my own mind...

Goodness, this device appears to have switched itself on. Perhaps from the bump on the head it gave me...or perhaps it is always connected to this new network I find myself in. How fascinating.

How many people are in this network?

No idea. Just got here.

[He kind laughs]

Glad I'm not the only one to fall on my face though.

It seems we are in the same proverbial boat, then, my good fellow. I trust evereything is in its place on your end, as it was on mine? A broken nose can become infected, you know - a much nastier problem than just the nose itself, I assure you.

This isn't a dream.

Of course, my subconscious mind would tell me that.

[he pauses, thoughtfully.]

Then again, I have occasionally experienced the lucid dream - when one becomes aware of one's own state of consciousness during sleep...I had quite the imaginary adventure in the jungles of Africa once.

I won't stop you from believing that this is all a 'dream', despite the fact that it isn't.

This is not Africa. You're on a completely different planet.

Oh, I'm certainly willing to ponder over other options, of course - the "dream" theory merely seems the most valid at this point. There are several variations on the basic idea - drug-induced hallucination, not that I have indulged upon anything of recent...

Ah, Africa would be much hotter, wouldn't it? Unless we were higher up in the mountains. The peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro are subartic!

Interesting as the scenery may appear, I would advise you to seek out shelter, and with haste.

Yes, I have heard tell of monsters of some sort. I have yet to get any specifics, though - have we positively identified any of them?

Identified? Yes, each species is known by at least some of the occupants here; it seems they are brought from the same lands as we are. There are some, for example, which I had believed only native to Dalmasca. All are dangerous, however. Be cautious.

The same...lands? I'm - afraid I am not familiar with Dalmasca. Ah, where...?
