He's got the bag of burgers and fries in one hand, and a six-pack of cold beers in the other as they ascend the staircase towards the rooms. Thankfully, his room hasn't moved (or if it has, Bar has been kind enough to put it back where it was when he left) and everything seems to be in order as they step inside

They've had arguments about showers before, but she knows that when he says quick, he means it. So, she smiles, and kisses him lightly on the mouth.

"Ain't that hungry, I can wait."

And make herself right at home in the meantime.

"...why the hell were you in Siberia?"

"Intelligence gathering. For years we suspected that Russia had a network of detention centers in Siberia holding several assets of the States."

Russia -- and the Soviet Union -- had had camps in the frozen north of the county of for prisoners of war and traitors. Or just people that 'needed' to be silenced.

"We didn't learn much that we didn't already know, but it was...useful, I guess."

"Ah, right. Crazy ninja reasons." Reasons which made her glad she's former USMC - not so much with the sneaking, more with the ass-kicking. "I guess the stars would be pretty out there, though."

"They were. Anywhere that it's really cold, you get the clean air and can see millions. They're pretty in Zimbabwe, too, but you have to get a little bit away from the floodlights to allow your eyes to adjust."

"Yeah, that whole...clean air thing," she says, drily.

"Once things are a little more stable...you should come to Africa with me. Just to see them."

[hallelujahpilot]

"I'd like that." Beat. "But I can totally wait for things being stable. I'm out of practice at dodging bullets."

He laughs, after taking a sip of beer and swallowing.

"I'm not dodging bullets. Things aren't that bad, thankfully."

"Just...edgy?"

[one_man_army]

"Tense," he agrees. "But there's not any active gunbattles going on, at least in the area we're at."

"That's something, at least. Well. I'll look forward to the stars, whenever you get a chance. And a door. Can't exactly go stargazing at Pandora."

"I wouldn't want to be outside at night there," he says. "Hell, not sure I'd want to be outside durin' the day, really, unless I knew what the hell I was doing."

"I have to show you my mountains one day, though."

"Yes, you do...because I can tell how much you love them, and they sound incredible. Suppose it's different, too, since I trust you to fly without gettin' us killed."

"Weeeell, I probably won't get us killed. But never a hundred percent certain."
