So, hey. For those of you who haven't heard already, the Nexus has been "invaded" by an army of cockbites in mecha and power armor calling themselves "Clan Ice Hellion." We have no honor, so they have the right to rule, blah blah bullshit. Everyone watch yourselves if you're going into the Nexus, keep your PINpoints handy to bail somewhere safe. ( Read more... )

I managed to take one out.

Don't bother asking me to do anything more for another week or so.

Yeah, see, that's the kind of thing I meant by random potshots being a bad idea. You going to be okay, there?

Oh, be quiet.

I'll be fine once I can feel my legs again. And my arm.

I'm not the one who got himself wrecked-up taking down a single mech. Goddamn. Have you gone to the Clinics to at least gets checked out, or are you going to be all stubborn about it?

Of all the -- Can't the Nexus, at least, take care of itself?

Short of the place LOLing them until they decide the place isn't worth their time -- and I am kind of hoping for that -- it's not like the Nexus has its own military forces or whatever. Those of us who volunteer for that sort of thing are it.

We're not the best at gauging differences in future technology. Out of curiosity, how would you say their civilization's technology compares to your civilization's?

Thanks,

Hm. Well, keeping in mind that I'm not really much for the science myself... A lot of their stuff's pretty different. For one thing, we don't have mecha. We've got vehicles on about that kind of scale, but they're for things like harvesting crops and stuff. I don't think we've ever considered war machines like that to be terribly practical. They're impressive-looking, I'll give them that much.

The tanks and fighters... look not too far off from the sorts of stuff we have back home, anyway. Actually, back home in the 26th century, specifically. 800 years in The Future, we've probably got better, although it's fairly unlikely that I'd be allowed to get my hands on any of it for this ( ... )
