1. broken - Something dead can't be fixed. And that wtf black dot is a dead bug. So, basically, that's Natsuno angsting over a dead bug.
2. glare - My first thought when I read this prompt was 'the glare of sunlight' and that's what kind of effect I was going for there. Nontraditional? You bet.
3. past - When they were still alive. Text - "the summer that never was".
4. friendly - A spin-off of the theme along the lines of 'choose your friends wisely'. Text - "let the right one in". ...I'm all for nontraditional interpretations this round, OTL.
5. summer - NATSUNO, Y U LOOK LIKE A WOMAN? @-@
6. lost - Text - "I keep losing all connection points". Because, in the end, Natsuno was lost.
7. textures - In order: sky/light textures; smoke/light textures; simple old-school colour texture; light textures (the smoke was part of the original image, jsyk); mirror texture.
8. AC set - Frame textures. My arch nemesis. #3 is my personal favourite.
[!] Numbers are placed ABOVE the icons.
