Susan had not been to Summerfell since the
encounter with Jon's uncle. It would not have been a good idea even if she had felt like it; between Arya and Benjen, Susan felt that it would be best if she simply stayed away. Whatever was happening with Jon and his uncle, her presence would not help in any way and would likely only make things worse.
She was angry still, but more than that she felt guilty; guilty for being angry (did she even have the right?) and guilty for putting Jon in this position in the first place. But how could it be wrong to love him, and to have his love in return? Something so good and honest could not be wrong, could only be a kind of honour in itself, and any person, god or gods who said otherwise were ones that Susan had no use for.
Too restless to sit still, she went down to the beach as evening fell, taking her frustration out in a long walk along the sand. She walked and walked until her legs were tired, and finally sat down in the sand to watch the sun set.
"...if you do hurt him ... you'll never see me coming," she remembered Arya saying, out of nowhere, and she could almost remember the feel of Arya's knife on her neck, making her shudder.
[for Robb and Lucy.]
