Sometimes I see a word, and it just makes sense because the parts make sense. Even if I don't completely understand what they mean, they have personalities. At one point in Romance of Red Dust, Hong Fu says:

tbh I've never seen 感知 before. It's not in my normal usage. It must be a mandarin noun then.

I use 察觉 for perceive instead.

Maybe it was an older word. Sometimes I'll ask Tingting "what's the difference between these two?" and she'll point to one and say, "That one is old and literary, no one says that anymore."

I wonder if this mixing modern and historical dramas is giving me a strangely mixed vocabulary.
