Cair Paravel: Middle of Sunday Night: Peter and Willow's Rooms

The reports that Peter had been reading during the day kept him awake as the night wore on, and finally he slipped out of bed, trying not to disturb Willow and shrugged into a robe before looking around into the darkness of the room.  Wandering down to the stables or the armoury would mean others waking up, and he didn't think he could do much more

Peter probably wasn't expecting a little window to pop up on his screen, just as Edmund hadn't been expecting Peter to ever show up on his computer.

TamedByLion: Peter, what are you doing using a computer?

TamedByLion: You have a talent, Peter. You can find a loophole when I least expect it.

KnightofNarnia: From you, I take that as the highest of compliments. I do hope that doesn't mean you won't take my point."

TamedByLion: Point taken and noted, but meeting a newborn is a little different to meeting another person capable of speech. For one, they know what their own nose is.

KnightofNarnia: I'm sure your future nephew will be terribly happy to have an uncle who can introduce him to his own nose. Wonder if yours will be bigger after the boy grabs it a few hundred times.

TamedByLion: It's a trial I'm willing to bear to introduce him to his own nose. A nose is a very important thing to have.

[once_a_king]

KnightofNarnia: Then you'd stand as his godfather, Edmund?

[once_a_traitor]

The cursor flicked in and out of sight on the screen for a good 30 seconds before he began to type.

TamedByLion: I'd be honoured, of course.

Peter took a deep breath, wondering where exactly that came from.

KnightofNarnia: Thank you, Ed.

TamedByLion: Is that burning question why you're awake in the middle of the night? Or are you practising for his arrival?

[once_a_king]

KnightofNarnia: How much have you read of the recent intelligence reports?

[once_a_traitor]

TamedByLion: I've read everything I have, but it may be out of date.

[once_a_king]

KnightofNarnia: I do know you, Ed. I would doubt that if I hadn't gotten some new reports today. There seem to be some less than pleased about the idea of a Pevensie heir.

[once_a_traitor]

TamedByLion: That doesn't come as a great surprise. Is there anything in your newest reports that suggest the would-be dissenters are organising?

[once_a_king]

KnightofNarnia: The dissent was suspected, but, yes, they seem to be putting words into actions a bit more directly than I'd like. You should be getting the reports tomorrow unless the mail system suddenly decides to go on strike again.

TamedByLion: For the moment, I think it's best if the family has a personal guard. Talk to Oreius. We've had this discussion, so he'll be able to advise you.
