The Gardens and Great Hall of Cair Paravel - Saturday Evening

Music had begun pouring through the gardens and halls of Cair Paravel as soon as the High King and the new Queen of Narnia were announced to their guests and subjects.

The decorations stayed in the trees, and as the sun went down, tiny lights woven through the branches appeared, keeping the gardens well-lit for socialising and dancing.

It really, really wasn't. "You know if you're not careful your face is gonna freeze that way, right?" Xander asked him.

"Yours didn't," Peter pointed out. "And you were smiling at least as much as me."

Xander patted his own face and tried to catch a glimpse of it in one of the glasses. "It didn't? Feels like it did."

He chuckled, still beaming too much. "Well, perhaps it did. But it hasn't hurt you any."

"Well, I gotta admit shaving gets a little complicated, but I get by," Xander replied. "'Course, you don't have electric razors here, so you might be in trouble."

Peter rubbed his hand over his chin. "I could grow a beard. It would be a good look. Right up until Willow refused to kiss me."

Xander looked over at Willow, who had obviously ignored all warnings about face-freezing. "Yeah, that's gonna happen."

He grinned happily. "She threatened it once." Peter looked up at Xander. "I want to thank you for being here today. I know wild horses couldn't keep you away, but it means a lot."

Xander glanced around mock-nervously. "Are there wild horses? Nobody told me there'd be wild horses..."

"Only the centaurs," he laughed. "But they don't particularly appreciate being referred to as horses."

"Well, if they don't drag me anyplace, I won't call 'em horses, and everybody's happy." Xander rubbed the back of his neck. "Seriously, I'd have lost my mind at my wedding if Willow hadn't been there. No way I was missing yours."

Peter nodded and raised his glass. "To not losing minds everywhere."

"I'll drink to that." He'd have to, since he didn't have any literal toast left. "We can skip the part where I go all loomy about what happens if you hurt her, right?"

"Rather we could say it's well-understood," Peter said, nodded seriously. "Hurting her would be like cutting off my hand. I'll never do it or allow others to."

"Which is the only reason I didn't stuff her in a really big suitcase and sneak her off to the future already, so we're good," Xander replied with a grin.
