If for the flight branch, I don't know if to pity them or not, honestly.
The thing about it is that flight travel is a sector that's been a bubble for decades. It was part of the Western wealth agenda to be able to afford oneself to fly to exotic places for vacation, trying to talk them into believing it's as necessary for life as food and water.
And people bought that crap.
So... the current demolition is actually just a "correcting an artificially-created demand" that been going on for decades.
Sooner or later that needed to happen.

You see... The people of the GDR also got told "adjust to the market", so if their occupations weren't needed anymore in the new system, they'd need to acquire themselves new ones.
And now, whenever a crisis happens in the capitalist system, even the workers cry for "Oh, no! Please don't fire us! Don't tell us our branch isn't needed anymore!".
I mean... Rule of the market is the rule of the market, right?
So that means: If you aren't needed anymore, if your branch is a dead horse to ride on and has no future anymore - then deal with it. And don't cry for the government to save you and delay the inevitable.
I have to say it that cynically.
