Oh hey, the new one is going to have a cell phone instead of Custard the cat. I can't buy into the notion that this is somehow more positive for little girls. I think Strawberry Shortcake was a much better role model when she looked like a child, wore a costume from a by-gone century, even if she did do battle with a mustacioed weirdo who referred to himself in the third person and did an evil little dance when he triumphed over good.
