Yesterday's meeting with River was still fresh in Kerrigan's mind. As a result, she was... thoughtful, and maybe a little distracted, adding what had been spoken about in class yesterday to her memories of the images she had been picking up over the past year or so ( Read more... )

"I still want to be able to do that," Emma said from the doorway, looking at the pencil. "I believe you mentioned the opportunity for private lessons in class last week?"

"Quite frankly, I'm disappointed it took you this long," Kerrigan said, breezily, looking up from said pencil.

"I've been working with Ino on occasion, and I figured your office would be full of eager students after your offer last week," Emma replied, coming in to take a seat. "Now that I'm taking on Jonothon as a pupil, I need to accept that I can't teach myself everything."

"I've only had the one so far," Kerrigan said, though she didn't sound fussed. "Most of them find me a little off-putting." That... could be a joke. "But it's nice to get confirmation you kids can be taught something about yourselves. Anything in particular you want to learn, or shall I just assume ignorance?"

Charlie didn't enter the office, perhaps out of fear, perhaps out of...some weird sense of respect.

"So, heard the news?" She would try to sound like it didn't matter, but truth was, she felt still embarrassed at her little accident on the past day.

"I definitely heard something," she said, dryly. "You almost blew out my eardrum."

Possibly she was going to be even more annoyed by this omg future thread spoilers!!1 by the time Zoe came by about the same damn thing.

"I forced an imperfect combustion, otherwise I would've brougth summer back a little earlier in the preserve." And roast Ariel in the process, too. She was so not thinking about that.

"Well...now you know just how fucked up I am."

"Teenagers," she snorted. "They have some control issues, and they think they're 'fucked up'," Kerrigan made no airquotes, but they were audible. "Get into my office, miss McGee."

When it came down to it, there were only a handful of teachers who Zoe truly trusted, mainly for their years of service to the school while remaining relatively sane. Kerrigan was one of them, so when it came to the Charlie situation, it was relatively easy for Zoe to decide who to talk to. How she'd phrase it was another matter entirely.

Spotting Kerrigan in her office, Zoe went up to the doorway and knocked belatedly it seems. "Hi there," she said, smiling softly. "Do you have a moment?"

"Principal Winchester," Kerrigan recognised, sitting straight on up. "Of course. What can I help you with?"

... She may have briefly touched on Zoe's mind just to check River hadn't accidentally killed someone, or something.

"There was an...incident yesterday that I wanted to talk to you about, involving a student," Zoe said. She might still be tempted to deal with River on her own, as insane as that would be. "Her name is Charlie, and, well, it seems she's got a bit of trouble with setting fires. Without matches."

"I heard," Kerrigan said, poking at one ear in emphasis. "She was down here an hour or two ago. I've been trying to teach her a few things. The girl likes to go big."
