I feel like mine must have been something related to the Gulf War? All I really remember is being terrified by the idea that somehow gripped me that people could come bomb where I live unexpectedly/at any time.

I was born in 84 so things like that really weren't something I was conscious of in the 80s. I was more on the watching My Little Ponies level.

At least in HS with the margin of targeting area error we were at ground zero. Before I'd thought they'd take out the nearest big city and we'd get the lingering fallout.

That was the first presidential election I was old enough to vote in. I watched the ads for the two major party candidates, and they weren't saying, "Vote for me," they were saying, "Don't vote for the other guy." So I didn't - I voted for Anderson.
