I've heard nothing remotely good about LePage since he got in. My mother had a few choice words to say about him.

We were kicking an interesting idea around the table the other day, of a way around some of the anti-marriage laws.

Form a corporation.

You can then have joint property (the corp owns it all), shared health insurance (paid for by the corp for all members), etc.

It's inelegant, but legal, and even the staunchest "conservative" wouldn't dare oppose it (as that's going against corporations, which pay their bribes re-election campaigns.)

It's a start, anyway. It's not the same, it's not equal, but it's something.
