Ewha Village loses its angel wings mural after ‘1N2D’ exposure
The famous angel wings mural, which was made even more famous after it was aired through popular KBS2TV variety program, ‘1N2D‘, last month, is now no more after residents living in the villlage requested for it to be removed due to inconveniences caused by the mural.
The painter of the mural, seuwichigeol (Naver ID), posted through his blog on October 4th, “Just came back after removing the angel wings mural in Ewha-dong.”
The angel wings mural had been showcased in the September 26th episode of ‘1N2D’, where Lee Seung Gi had to complete a mission which involved him taking a picture to become an angel. Thereafter, visitors to that particular spot where the mural was located started to increase.
The mural painter had gone back to repaint a portion of the angel wings after seeing the program, but received a lot of complaints from residents about the inconveniences.
One resident expressed, “This place was already famous before ‘1N2D’, but the situation has worsened after the program was aired. Regardless of day or night, there’s always a lot of people here.”
Another said, “It’s impossible to sleep after ‘1N2D’ aired this episode. There’s an endless stream of people taking pictures, and it wouldn’t be a big deal if they did it with tact, but they keep generating a lot of noise and chatter even though it was past midnight. It’s very tiring for us.”
In addition, one said, “There were guys who came deep into the night and stripped down to their underwear before taking pictures.”
The painter said, “There’s nothing more I can say.”
Lee Seung Gi chosen as the male singer who would best handle postpartum care
A set of poll results showed that singer/actor Lee Seung Gi was recently chosen as ‘the male singer who would best help with postpartum care’, which is a period shortly after childbirth.
Online music site Bugs Music held the poll for 6 days, with 685 (45%) of the 1552 voters choosing Lee Seung Gi, ranking him first place. Second place went to 2PM’s Nichkhun, receiving 365 votes (25%), displaying the vast gap between the first and second place winners.
Many netizens expressed, “Seeing Lee Seung Gi’s generally calm image, I’d pick him as my first pick”, “Is there anyone else who is softer and calmer than Lee Seung Gi himself?”, “Lee Seung Gi is someone who would even have morning sickness in place of the wife”, “Maybe it’s because he played a father of a baby in a drama before, but I’m already used to that image.”
Meanwhile, other singers placed in the top 5 were: B2ST’s leader Yoon Doojoon with 245 votes (16%), Sung Shi Kyung with 116 votes (8%), and 2AM’s Im Seulong with 78 votes (6%).
