Most of the groups from SM, JYP and YG all seem to have, if not guaranteed success a big fanbase before their groups even debut. I didn't start getting into kpop until 2013, even then the few that were debuting from the big "3" always seemed to have a fanbase established even before the group debut. It may of taken them 2 years but they succeeded. Back then they were saying Cube or FNC could be close to joining the big 3. The lesser known agency their idols were barely recognized, unless something happened that caused them to stand out. Even now some groups are 7 years old and people say they never heard of them.
Note: sorry I didn't mention anything about plagiarism, because I think it has gotten out of hand, and it has been going on for years, it just seems at this moment it's worse then it ever was.
