Some people said that they should stop letting these two leads play high school students. They acted out as their younger selves instead of having young actors play the part. For me, it was totally fine. They were able to properly act out their part and some of the flashbacks were funny.
I liked the first two episodes. I think I'm going to like this series (I hope I don't jinx it). If they show how people at their lowest point can bounce back, be happy, be able to deal/manage anxiety/depression properly...I'm here for it.
I'm a little whelmed by the overall prospects of this drama. It's tackling some heavy topics that interest me, but I feel like Park Hyung Sik and Park Shin Hye are beyond the roles they're in. I don't know if it's because I'm reconciling their actual ages with the high school flashbacks or their childish banter, but there's a huge disconnect for me in the performance of their roles...and I actually think it makes sense they play their high school counterparts. The performances weren't bad...just seem beyond where they are in their current careers.
Hopefully, now that we're past the initial setup, the disconnect will pass because I want to see how they're going to handle the heavier topics and murder mystery.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys think as this goes on. I'm hesitant in the I struggle to buy either of these two actors, who I like, as able to play extremely intelligent....
