Hospital Playlist and the Reply series are my all-time favs. Slice of life and ensemble dramas are my preferences. I enjoyed this drama.
I do think they mismarketed this drama as a romance. It began as a romance for a hot second but transitioned to a comedy with a little medical drama, got some short legs as a slice of life, and then ended as a drama. If you're aware this is not a romance and accept it was never meant to be a romance, then you'll enjoy it. At it's heart, it's a really well-done makjang with great comedic bits and commentary on working women with children, marriage and divorce.
If you've seen Sky Castle, you're familiar with Kim Byung Chul. He was near god-tier in his role in the drama.
Reply series is simply the best (also Hospital Playlist). I think you'll enjoy watching this too because its just the right amount of comedy and seriousness plus we have great acting.
I just want to hug everybody in the series! It was a nice ride. I couldn't think of a good ending but I am happy with how the story wrapped up for everybody. In the last episodes, I felt like the writers and director wanted us to understand how time and forgiveness relates to healing but on a realistic level.
I still wanted a bit more comeuppance for the husband, MIL, and sidechick. Yes, they suffered but they also got off way too easy. I am happy Jeong Suk chose herself at the end. It appropriate and needed.
Loved this drama I am so happy I decided to try it even though at first I was going to skip it because of the story line. It really was great acting all around and the story was so good. Both Uhm Jung-Hwa and Kim Eui-Sung really brought their characters to life
( ... )
This is definitely going on my recommend list. I wish, though, the drama kept a little more of the makjang feel in the second half. I feel like the use of characters was fairly well-balanced compared to most other dramas. It made the drama more enjoyable
IA this was not a romance drama, it more about second chances. even though I do think the husband was the most cowardly about everything. and then ex-girlfriend/lover.
