Unpopular opinion likely, I don't see anything super magically amazing/charismatic about the girls themselves or their performances yet. I feel like the marketing as cute young girls with a fresh concept is all I have seen. I haven't seen any variety/personality outside of the fact they are young.
The songs they have are just really what the public wants right now hence the blow up. Ditto still rules my heart.
All that said, I am very happy they are back to black/brown hair color. Those weird bleached colors were not it for me.
I mean… does there have to be anything super magically amazing about them? they’re doing their jobs pretty well so far lol which is to make music, content, and money and people are clearly enjoying it.
they’re all competent dancers and have a couple good vocalists (hanni danielle haerin) sprinkled into the group. I would say both hanni and danielle are quite charismatic and bright on stage as well.
I don’t think they have to come out the gate being variety queens, and tbh they are so new that they haven’t even made that many appearances yet so who knows - they may have one in the group. and they are young so a lot of that comes with time and maturing for some people tbh.
It's nothing against the girls. I think they are perfectly fine performers especially considering their ages.
I just feel like they have blown up so much and yet...I know nothing about them. As a group and individuals, I feel they haven't done anything to really warrant the success other than have a "fresh and young" with really good songs? The company had good timing and produced a good concept and did amazing on song choices for sure. But I feel like the same thing could have happened with any other group. Gotten lucky. Like, the group could be interchangeable and I for one wouldn't notice...?

from your response to the comment below, it seems that you feel like you’re seeing other groups putting in more (perceived) effort than newjeans and you don’t get why they’re the ones blowing up. you feel like they’re just getting lucky with their concept, haven’t “proven” themselves, and are a lil salty that they don’t constantly have to do so like other girl groups have to…? which I don’t really get the thought process behind that tbh. none of these ggs should have to be subjected to the pressure they’re under so I’m glad that newjeans isn’t getting dogged on by netizens constantly. they’ve gone through the trainee system just like any other group and none of them were famous before they debuted whereas the other groups in their rookie class had well known trainees and even previously debuted idols

I really enjoy Hani's voice, and glad this promo rounds are heavily focused on her. didn't expect her to be a vocal from their debut, and I guess with Danielle and her, they have a relatively solid vocal line
