10 years ago in K-Pop: Take a look back at 2013

Welcome 2023! Can you believe that it's already been 10 years since SNSD released "I Got A Boy", BTS debuted or "My Love from the Star" had us all hooked? Yes I know, I feel old as hell right now so let's share this feeling with the rest of you and see what else happened in K-Pop in 2013.

Ladies Code also debuted in 2013!!!

2013 is a really nostalgic year for me in general as it was the first year I began more fully investing in kpop & omonatheydidnt itself in an engaged way vs. just following Wonder Girls only. I didn't really want to give BTS a chance but their video was on the front page one of the days - or was it one of the stages? I seem to remember Ladies Code and them promoting at the same time? - and the lyrics were really on point/interesting so I slowly began to follow them.

Aside from them tho it was ALL girl groups for me. Aside from AOA this was also arguably the most prolific year for Nine Muses with 4 comebacks consisting of 2(?) digital singles, one mini and a full album. Sistar and 4minute were also on my radar and of course the event of the year was Sunye getting married. So many memories of this year to come, may we see lots of lovely comebacks and stages during it!!

i like this post a lot. A walk down memory lane.

The Heirs is one of the worst dramas i've ever seen. I loved Lee Minho when i first started watching kdramas but I was quickly soured on his acting or failure to act imo. I didn't watch reply 1994 because I just didn't care tbh. I think I loved I Can Hear Your Voice but I also just love Lee Bo Young.

I remember a lot of these scandals but I was 15 at the time and didn't think too much about anything tbh but I do remember being absolutely disgusted by the Tony Ahn and Hyeri situation.

tbh i barely remember what happened in 2013, I think I was more active in other fandoms, the only songs out of that list I remember are what's your name and give it to me lol

Wow I can't believe it's been 10 years!
July 2012 I had just started down the rabbit hole of drama's that led to Kpop. I remember when BTS first came out I was really still getting into KPOP so I wasn't paying attention to their debut. A few months later when I heard Attack on Bangtan ("the Rise of Bangtan") that came out in September, I was hooked, Then is when I really started to follow them and learn their names. At first I couldn't figure out why more people didn't like them, then a few years later it feels like it happened overnight that they blew up, and just kept going!

I saw all of those drama's and loved them! I cried during I can't hear your voice when the Mom died!

I also remember some of the scandals especially Se7en and Sangchu and the one with Son Ho Young's ex-Girlfriend and him trying to commit suicide.

Thank you for this post really enjoyed going back and seeing what had happened in 2013!

I looovvveeeddd "I Can Hear Your Voice" also I was Team Chilbong til the very end on Reply 1994. And I watched every Yoo Yeon Seok series that came oit after that. I love the cast of Heirs but not the drama itself 😂

Wow 10 yrs with BTS. I got into the group in 2014 tho hehe and its because of Sungjae (he said he's friends with the 95 boys of BTS so yeah I had to check them out)
