I know this is going to sound like a crazy comment. But one thing I have recognized over the last four episodes is that this show uses silence and space in between words so well. I remember reading somewhere about how actors need to continue to act in between scenes even if they don’t have any dialogue. I noticed that Woo Bin did this fairly well at the table scene where the group confronted Dong Seok. However, this is the first time that I’ve noticed an actor use silence and space in between dialogue so phenomenally well to push forward to the next scene.
Byung Hun may be an ass in his personal life but there is nothing negative to be said about the execution of his professional work product. Hot damn. No wonder his story was saved for the end. And he is delivering.
AMazing observation on Woo Bin's acting! And so I rewatched that part and even though I dont know much about the science/art of acting, he did a good job there as you described.
And yes, Byung Hun is really a good actor. Its been a long time since I last watched him in a series. I'm not sure if its just the actors in this series who are all good by default or if its also because of good directing. I remember not liking Han Jimin in the first few episodes but she turned it all around when her story was told. They are just so good.
This is my first time watching Byung Hun. I’m seriously impressed. A rare case of the hype delivering.
Yes, I completely agree with the directing! It’s been phenomenal. I can’t recall any scene feeling overdone. Each story’s climax was perfect. Even the editing choices have been good bc I’ve never felt any episode lag.
