I read plastic surgery consultations and surgeries had a big surge during the pandemic in SK. I love watching plastic surgery videos even though I’m lucky enough to like my face as it is, my only problem has always been weight LOL

This is honestly really sad. You havent even fully finished growing as a teen and yet they're encouraged to get non-essential surgery. I wish societal pressure to look a certain way wasnt so intense

As much as I support 'your body your choice' I think non-emergency/essential PS should be banned until you're in your 20s. I've met countless people who regretted their nose jobs or jaw shaving (surgeries around 16-17) because they didn't look the same when they got older (25-30s)

Yes! In my country, plastic surgery is banned for anyone under the age of 18 and surgeons even say that your body still develops until your mid-20s so they sometimes refuse people over 18. Guess things are just different in Korea.

This is sadly nothing new and has been a thing for over a decade now, possibly even longer. And while I'm team "your body your choice" I'm sad that teenagers are brainwashed (by society and the media) into getting surgery. Even worse that due to social media and influencers the West is catching up and fillers, botox and surgeries are more common nowadays.

receiving plastic surgery (unless needed) during your teens should be banned altogether! your body is still changing so the results after a certain amount of years might be totally different than you first imagined!

i mean i get wanting to support you child but allowing ps is quite sad imo.
