I haven't watched ep 4 yet, but I am enjoying it so far. Kim Hye Yoon is a gem, so I pretty much committed to watching this once it was announced she was starring in it. Taec is good with comedy.
The bromance with the Crown Prince is (was?) cute. Sad that he is dead! He was poisoned, what!
The trumpet creeper flower mention made me!!! Not sure if that was on purpose as a nod to Extraordinary You, but it was a nice surprise! Some scenes (like the one where Joyi is dreaming and walking through the market, made me think of Ex-You/Trumpet Creeper. Nice to see the other Ex-You alum too.
It's nice to see Hye Yoon in a drama again since Rowoon is on his second leading role already and has already been cast in a third one, I think?? I kind of wish Hye Yoon was the main lead in Snow Flower...anyways, I digress.
Hye Yoon and Taec have good chemistry.
And slightly off topic, but is it just me or does it seem like there's been an unusual amount of sageuks recently?
I adore Hye-yoon from when I watched 'Extraordinary You'. I hope she gets more height-friendly in her next drama. She went from Rowoon to Taec... a 4.5cm improvement lol. *pours one out for my girl's neck*. I think I'll wait for it to finish since I'm already watching two sageuks. If this was on Wed-Thu, there would be sageuks 6 out of 7 days of the week.

It's not you. There are A LOT of sageuks right now. It almost feels like there's one on every station at this point lol
Me too! Hye Yoon was so good in Ex-You. That was the first drama I saw her in. Lol poor Hye Yoon and her short girl problems. As a fellow shorty, I can relate. Haha.
Lol yess. There are so many. I haven't watched a sageuk in a while, so this one seems like a good choice since it doesn't seem too heavy and has some comedic elements.
yes, there seem to be a whole lot of sageuks lately.
But last year we got almost none (because I think the year before the ratings for sageuks wasn't high but it costs a lot to make period dramas so broadcast studies hesitate to make them I think) so it makes me happy because I tend to really enjoy this genre of kdramas.
This drama is written by the same writer that did the highly underrated and much beloved (in my heart) sageuk Tamra the Island. I do think this show could end up being a really fun ride all the way through. But you never know with sageuks and the second half. Suddenly they go to Hanyang and the story just shifts. I'm hoping for as little of that as possible here. I feel like we need more sageuks that focus less on palace intrigue and all of that
( ... )
I have only watched the first 2 episodes and I am enjoying it. I have only watched a handful of sageuks, I usually don't watch them since they seem more serious and more political. The few I watched were mainly because they were going to be more on the fun side like this one. I am enjoying it so far, the main reason why I started it is because I love Hye Yoon and Taec. Hye Yoon is so adorably cute. Loved her in Sky Castles and Extraordinary You. She is so outspoken in this, hoping it keeps up like the first 2 episodes.
I don’t usually watch Taecyeon (and also period dramas) but Hye Yoon is a fave from Sky Castle so I gave this a try. (I think HY’s career should be bigger especially after Sky Castle).
I was so happy to see Lee Joon Hyuk’s cameo (?) though! He’s not a bad/sketchy person this time lol
