It's insane how long SM are able to profit from Chinese idols who have left their respective groups, are only (or mostly) active in China, and are actually managed by another company.
I don't particularly wish her well, I know she'll be ok anyway as she keeps repeating government propaganda

it is interesting. I assume they offer up the ultimatum of taking a cut instead of making the idols pay their way out of their contracts/go through legal preceedings which could sideline them for a while.

Especially as Victoria must have seen how Kris, Luhan and Tao went through courts and lost, having to keep paying SM a cut of their money until the end of their contracts. I totally understand not fighting and just sending the money while making sure the actual management is handled personally in China (if I remember well, she started by setting up her own studio under SM's umbrella like Lay did too)

I find it really interesting because there are so few chinese artists left at SM besides Lay so once he's gone they'll have to depend on chinese money from NCT but like... they'll be there only active group besides DBSK and Aespa but idt anyone cares about them (they just dissapeared lol). I wonder what's going to happen to SM for the rest of the year in terms of content production.

makes sense because she's not active in korea at all anymore

ugh i was such a huge f(x) fan (still of their music) but she's one of the members that really disappointed me with her gov propaganda

I wasn't aware she was still with them, I was under the impression she left the same time Krystal did.

It would be lovely if SM would repress their albums since my copies were destroyed in a flood and I'm not shilling out $200+ for each.

it would be some work but you could try indie shops in other countries. my local has a bunch of out of print albums and I'm sure i saw f(x) there.
