My internal definition of the generations is soooooooooooooo different from this one.

Tbh I just mostly put it since it was brought up in the comments on YouTube. But I included transition since Wassup was pretty late as they debuted in 2013 and The Ark is from 2015, which is not 2nd gen imo

Nothing to get hung up though, it just means not current idols hence the show they’re on lol. Also I’m surprised you’re in this post as there is no BoA 😅

Hell, to me, 2013 is 4th or 5th gen.

Hmm. I’ve heard some fans think like that, so you’re not alone at least? The general consensus though is there is 4 currently in kpop.

I kind of view it similar to how gaming consoles generations have usually over 5 years but less than 10 (stressing usually lol! I know the Gameboy lived a really long life) I also like the idea of 2.5, 3.5, etc for those periods of transition

OP you accidentally embedded the first video again under the cut!!

This was nice to see. I don't know anyone from Wassup or The Arc - and barely know the Soyul of Crayon pop - but I was glad to see the ones I knew again for sure

Fixed 👍 thanks!

Wassup’s concept was dumb but they had some fun songs! Honestly I never checked out The Ark minus one special ballad but the member here did well. Soyul is a momma! So she’s pretty cool imo to be performing as it’s not the norm in kpop

Remember when Sunye was supposed to be a former idol & wife that came back?? And then she got pregnant a third time and we never heard from her since??

I don’t keep up with her anymore but I remember her doing missionary work at some point? Idk she’s a little too religious for me 😬
Edit - ok looked up more on her missionary work, she takes it seriously. She was in Haiti for 2 1/2 years somewhat recently amongst other trips. It sounds like she was able to help a lot of people which is great, but I just think the purpose of missionary work will make me uncomfortable

Though I wish for more can break that stigma! Moon Hyuna didn’t perform it but she released a song she worked on while she was pregnant (it was released right before giving birth lol) and she’s been married for a few years now. It’s baby steps but I’ll take it

I thought Soyul is small, but Yujin is even smaller

I believe they're all from 3rd gen, although Subin, Sera and Raina debuted earlier than Soyul, Yujin, Nada and Gayoung.

i started watching the show mostly for yujin but fell in love with subin somewhere along the line. she is LITERALLY the whole package??? she KILLED me when she was teaching yujin how to be expressive and her stanning the ark is basically me all the time lmao i still know nothing about dal shabet but her solo songs are great. i feel like she's a really good producer/composer.

nada and gayoung's relationship is everything. i teared up when gayoung said she gained so much courage from watching nada owning and flaunting her body.

when she smoked through the 1st dance rehearsal, I was impressed. she didn't execute the right moves, but she made it seem so natural and confident!
