ok, after 10 years, i will ask.

what the hell does this mean. why are inactive boygroups ranked higher than others. How is T-ara at number 20 and weki meki at 24. nothing after number 10 makes sense to me

Afaik a lot of these are influenced by what people/fans are talking about online in Korea. For groups, sometimes a group may rise in rankings due to a certain member(s) even if the group itself isn't active or not currently promoting, e.g. VIXX because Ravi stars in a famous variety show, Infinite maybe because L's drama is airing. But who knows, sometimes the rankings don't make sense to me either.

I think it may be more then just sns like Melon/Naver searches and stuff too.

I remember when Seungri was on Mom's Diary, before Burning Sun starting making headlines. He was in a meeting with his team and they were talking about how he's in more searches now (because his members were serving, and Seungri was on variety shows). They tracked his ranking all the way back to his first solo in like 2009 before social media was as influential as it is now.

I feel like the more people are talking about/searching for you, the better your ranking will be unless it's a big scandal.
