So, getting closer and closer college people are telling me I need to figure out what I want to be when I graduate college. I always change what I want to do because there's not a whole lot I'm interested in. I really want to start thinking about my future a little more, so I have some questions for you guys! I think you have to choose to do what you *want* to do. Otherwise it's harder to do it, if you get me. Choose things you're interested in and think you can do well in~ If you want to go to college straight away, go for it. If you feel you need a break, you can always apply to a college and then defer for a while or something.

But don't worry too much. I know people that have swapped courses/majors etc sooo many times throughout uni. I guess, sometimes you don't realise what you want to do until you try a few different things.

i'm not very confident in a lot so it's even harder for me to think of something i'll do good in =/

I wanted to be a doctor up until like grade 11 when I realized 1) its so fucking hard and 2) I don't enjoy science that much. Anyway it came as a shock to my parents when I told them I was thinking about another career path since I'd said I wanted to go into medicine since I was like born and pretty much entire family (grandparents, aunts, uncles) expected me to be a doctor. And tbh, I still haven't completely let go of the idea just because idk maybe a part of me does still want to be a doctor? its all very confusing. SEE, I HAVE DECIDED MY CAREER PATH APPARENTLY BUT I STILL DON'T REALLY KNOW. So when i realized I don't like science, i looked at the subjects I had in school that I did like, and the only one was math. Then I researched careers in math and for the longest time I could only find TEACHER. And as cool as that would be, they do not make enough money. And I want a career that pays well (idgaf if that comes off as shallow or w/e, I want to be well off in life and not struggling to make ends meet tbh). Digging more I found

when i was little i wanted to be a zoologist but in middle school when i realized it didnt make enough money, i dropped that idea.. i don't think it's bad to want to make a lot of money because that's what most people want =/ i hate math and science >.< which sucks bc that's where all the good money comes from lol

ya ik.. it's just it seems like so many of my classmates know what they're striving for and in my personal finance class our teacher is like pushing us to pick something (i mean even the school was pushing us in 8th grade so...) it's just all getting to me i guess

You can go into business or accounting :o those fields make a lotttt of money if you find the right job/company to work for. Especially if you pursue master degree (i.e. MBA)

omg, it's always worst the year before h/s graduation cause that's when parents and other relatives start cracking down on you. "what do you want to study? what do you mean, you don't know?!?!" etc, etc.

right now, i've applied for two very different faculties in 5 different universities. for 3 of them, it's the faculty of arts/film production program. for the other 2, it's related to law. so... depending on where i get accepted into, i'm either going to be studying something i kinda like but don't know if it's something i want to do for the rest of my life, or something i really enjoy doing. :/

but when i was younger, i had the crazy idea of being a writer, then a cheerleader, then a teacher, then a musician. musician is something that is fairly possible, given my music bg, but it sucks hardcore to compete with the really srs music students. ;asldgjasldgj

well, i'm not even a senior yet >.< in 8th grade we were forced to pick a career class so we did extra courses in hs that were related only to that career choice 8| which is stupid because we can't change it if we decide something else later

see im starting at a 2 yr college first bc my parents said it'll save money and i might be able to decide by then...

otl i wanted to be a zoologist 8| i wanted to work with white tigers lol~ and omg i wish i had some type of music talent XD
