Remus never wanted this. He didn't want to be searching for someone to spend time with. The only allowance he gave himself was the time he spent at Hogwarts with James, Sirius, and even Peter. They were the Marauders after all.
After school, he tried his best to seclude himself because of the Order and the fact that the Marauders lived on, even after Hogwarts. He accepted this but went into seclusion full-time after James and Lily's murders and Sirius' imprisonment for Peter's 'death.' He was alone in the world but even though he always wished for it, he was said to see its arrival.
Time passed, Remus befriended James' son, Sirius was free but hunted, Voldemort rose to power once more, and the Order was active again. He was thrust into doing the same things he had done in the first war. Then one day, he meets this shocking Auror who makes his world a little topsy-turvy but he likes the new feeling.
Remus never wanted this but he can't help it.
